Okay, so pregnancy has not been treating my looks very well and I feel like I look run down a lot.

Does anyone have any tips on make up ideas they think I would suit to give me a bit of a change?

There is a recent picture of me in my profile.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your hair is indeed lovely, at the age of 20 (many, many moons ago) I had tried all sorts of colours, bleached blonde, black, red, orange and I loved them all. I would not, however have been seen dead in anything resembling my own natural colour, how utterly boring.

Thanks everyone. :)

Lipstick I think I agree with the grey, just had another look at my picture. It makes me look drained.

Mathan It's okay, I appreciate the suggestion. :) It's just I got bored of having all sorts of hair colours and decided to get as close to my natural colour as possible so I can grow it out.

StuffedCat Thank you. :) Mines has even been green! disaster!

Accentuate even. I'm still getting use to typing on a touch screen thingy-ma-jig. Tis quite trying........ I understand about the grey thing, it's what the advice is to those with blue eyes. Tis bunkum. A warm cream works better if taupe is too dark. I use an eyeshadow quad palette from Revlon called coffee bean. It has a cream, taupe, warm rich brown and a cool chocolate brown. It's the best I have tried and one I keep coming back to. It blends really well and stays put. For an eyeliner I recommend collection 2000 dark brown eye liner. It is a twist up one that you never have to sharpen. That goes on well and stays put and is a bargain. I have sensitive eyes and these products work for me.

I have that Revlon one too, and it is great for paler complexions. You can also use a dark greeny/olive/grey liner with blue eyes to good effect. Hard to find the perfect shade though.

LipstickGal I have a touchscreen phone and I don't ever use it for the net. I bloody hate trying to type on the thing. Angry I have loads of coffees and creams and tried them today and it really didn't suit.

Ended up going with shimmery white and glittery charcoal and done smokey eyes with eyeliner on the inside of my bottom eyeline. Illamasqua foundation in their 2nd lightest shade, benetint on my lips with molton brown wonder lips over it and a little guerlain bronzer on my cheeks. I think it looked a lot better today but will still try loads of new looks until I get the one that will really suit.

Mathan I'd love to find a decent grey liner. :( I have a kind of stoney charcoal one that is a bit glittery I got free with Marie Clair this month and it's quite good, it's from a brand called Inka. :)

Butting in...
Boots no 7 brown eyeliner- weirdly Is a kind of taupe grey brown. Very nice colour.

Or cosmetics a la carte powder liner in 'fog'. Very expensive £20, but very nice indeed. Iv yet to find anyone it doesn't suit.

I would link but am on iPhone app and can't do all that gubbins on it.

SchrodingersMew · 08/07/2011 20:38

Sky Thanks I will google it. :)

I found a bobbi brown taupe eyeshadow in my old make up bag earlier, not sure I like the colour though. Confused

Sometimes I use my grey eyeshadow as an eyeliner. I can't wear black eyeliner -- far to harsh an effect for me.

SchrodingersMew · 09/07/2011 17:15

What colour is your hair if you don't mind me asking?

This is what it looks like on the box Smile

Havingkittens · 09/07/2011 17:51

Try some warmer colours on your eyes. Peaches, Corals, Plummy browns & Aubergines. For example, in MAC eye colours (because I am most familiar with their whole range!), stuff like Jest, Naked Lunch, Haux, Shag, Embark, Beauty Marked (if you want something almost black). Maybe Prunella eyeliner rathe than black. Something like Dainty, Pinch O Peach or Cubic on the cheeks and maybe a coral on the lips, like Crosswires or Barcelona Red. The grey and cool tones are what are washing you out. I think you need to warm it up a bit with something a bit brighter and fresher.

SchrodingersMew · 09/07/2011 19:16

Mathanxiety I used that colour once!! Didn't suit me at all, I thought it was nice on the box too. :(

Kittens When I use black eyeshadow it's normally this Chanel gel stuff. Goes on pretty well but it totally black as you could get.

I haven't really used much MAC, I only have 1 of their eyeshadows and it's bright yellow. I can't figure out anything nice to do with it. :( Any ideas?

I'll ditch the grey, I think you're right about that. I used to love it but I had black hair then.

Chrome Yellow? I would put that in the inner corner or 1/3 of the lid and blend it out into either orange and then maybe red (like fire), with or without black liner and/or eyeshadow. Or something similar with greens and bright turquoise. But this may or may not be to your taste. Before any of the more conservative MN'ers start doing the cat's bum mouth at me for that, that would be for a high fashion, alternative or punk type of look or maybe an 80s look.

SchrodingersMew · 09/07/2011 19:46

Yep, it's chrome yellow.

I was given it as a gift (didn't realise how bright it was!). I actually like the idea of it with orange and red. :)
