How much do you spend on your hair?

Per month or per year? Including cuts, dyes, styling, hair mousse or spray, extensions, curling, straightening, etc.

About £5-10 - a few bottles of shampoo - that's it. I wash my hair about once a week and cut it myself every couple of months.

I am guessing I may be an outlier here !

Less than £250. I home colour, have it cut about 5 times a year, buy the occasional conditioning serum (Moroccan Oil and GHD Remedy cream are the ones I use currently)

I do like to use nice shampoo and conditioner but wouldn't spend more than £10-£15 a bottle and that would last ages as I only tend to wash 3 times a week.

Maybe less than £300 to be safe.

£30 x 4 or 5 for a cut plus shampoo and conditioner and serum.

Maybe £150 - 200 in all?

Used to do a lot of dying/highlights etc so used to be a hell of a lot more!

Probably around £500 a year . But that includes cuts,colours, serums,shampoo ect.

That's true actually - over how many months/years do you offset the hair dryer and straightener purchases?

I buy about 2 pairs of straighteners and 1 hair dryer a year. Unless something breaks then it could be more.

hmm

just changed hairdresser and hair do - cut was £50 - now have short hair therefore necessitating more regular hacking, say £50 every 3 months or so, BUT i now only need to usea microscpic bit of shampoo/conditioner so that will last longer, they cost £5 each ...

£60 every 6 weeks for cut and colour. Plus about £70 for shampoo and £20 for other styling products for the whole year. And I think my hairdresser is great value ;)

If you wanted to be precise you'd have to average the hairdryer cost over the number of annual users, too. :)
I hope thread can be good-natured, not a race to the bottom or top. Just being nosy! I am very much near the bottom end myself.

I cut my own hair and don't colour it (yet!). I use whichever shampoo is on special offer e.g. Pantene, Herbal Essences. My hair expense is Moroccanoil which is about £30 a bottle, but that will last about 7-8 months.

MayorNaze I don't know, they always break. :S Or stop being so hot (my hair is really hard to straighten).

I know I shouldn't but I don't really go out or spend any money on anything but hair and make up..

Maybe £100 in total a year, which seems loads actually!
I don't do anything fancy to it, just normal shampoo and conditioner (e.g., timotei or herbal essences) and the occasional bottle of hair serum to control the curls. Hair cut maybe 3 times a year (it's long and all one length) for about £20 a time.

About £60 on haircuts (3 x a year, £20 a time Grin) plus whatever on shampoo. I don't even use conditioner. Occasional blast of hairspray if I've put it up. Lets say £70 pa.

4 haircuts a year at about £25 = £100.
Normal shampoo and conditioner...Aussie or VO5, plus Frizz Eaze serum: £50pa.
Still got the same GHD's I've had for years, and hairdryer even older.

So £150 - that makes me feel good!!!

Moroccan Oil - is it really worth it? Curly hair here, v tempted!

throckenholt I just have ridiculously bad luck with them I guess. Confused They always stop working properly or I realise I don't like them.

£150 per hair cut/colour 3/4 times per year. Plus about £8 x 3 periodically for shampoo, conditioner and glosser (about once every month I guess!). so I suppose that makes £450 for cut and colour and £300 for products a year.

£25 cut every 3 months.

£5 dye every 2 months.

£160 and I own a five year old hairdryer and straighteners

oh, and I obviously wash it, so add in £40 for products, cause I usually use the kids' stuff.

Schm - buy some ghds they dont wear out. I went through a pair a year before i bought mine. Ive had them nearly 4 years now.
