So, I am liking the look.

On other people.

I spent all last summer looking in the 'tops' section of all the high street stores looking for all these lovely long length tops that I could see everyone in.

Now I discover that they are not tops at all, but actually dresses. Sigh. Why did no one tell me?

I still can't find anything anway, so maybe that's why no one bothered.

The only reason I am so interested is because I am a very tall slim size 10, but I have a post baby tummy at least 2 sizes bigger than the rest of me which just ain't shifting.

So I thought the leggings would be an ideal solution and it looks very comfy for toddler groups and school runs which take up most of my day.

Any suggestions to help me put together an outfit please?

Totally agree that this is an easy, comfortable and flattering look. this sort of thing? With your height you def need to look in "dresses" rather than "tops", possibly tunics too. I wanted this for ages, but I am short and it came up a bit long. I often wear a denim mini skirt with leggings underneath, which is not quite so comfy but is a good alternative. Hope that helps!

If you've got a bit of a tummy you want to disguise then you might be better with an empire line dress.

so true. Make sure also that the waist band of your leggings does not sit right in the middle of baby tummy, as will give you a spare tyre. If the dress is clingy round your tummy a slip will help, though makes getting dressed more effort!

You might be better to wear a more fitted dress but with a long line waistcoat over it? or boyfriend jacket or cardi?

Also - you may have to get soemthing but then alter the length of it. I'm tall and usually have to get a normal dress and then make it a mini for it to be flattering - if it ends mid thigh for me - its not flattering. I just take it up a bit shorter but make sure my leggins are really quite thick.

Thanks guys.

One thing, I am stuck on is when to wear cropped leggings and when it should be full length ones?

And what shoes? Is it only ballets? The really flat ones hurt my calves.

Topshop high waisted leggings, lovely and comfy and come up over tummy so no spare tyre. Full length much more flattering. I wear this look with boots when its cold and sandals (flat or with a small wedge) in warmer weather.
