Can anyone recommend any french skincare/beauty bargains. I am here until Saturday and feel a drugstore spree coming on.

Bargains? Nooo. Nuxe tinted moisturiser is nice. The Crealine Eau Micellaire is good, and usually on offer, a pack of 2 for around 16 euros. Anything by La Roche Posay is good. But probably cheaper in UK.

Not skincare but Phytologie haircare is the dogs and easily available and a bit cheaper in France

Realitystrikesback · 18/06/2011 20:58

Non to bargains, but sephora is fab and bourjois do nice shower gels there

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/06/2011 21:03

Oh yes, haircare - Rene Furturer (think!) is also lovely.
You need to find a big parapharmacy and have a wander.

ronx · 18/06/2011 21:25

Oooo - I forgot about sephora!

I like Marionnaud too.

Another Sephora lover here!

Embryolisse?

I like Marionnaud and Sephora but I've compared prices on the ferry and things like Estee Lauder and Chanel are loads cheaper - I'm holding out for the P&O shop in two weeks.

When I went to Paris in April I found most cosmetics were more expensive (could've been the exchange rate - £5 for toenail clippers!) but I did see some gorgeous scented handcream in Monoprix that I wish I'd picked up now. There's some skincare stuff that's meant to be great but for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was called.

Another fan of La Roche-Posay.

I'd defo pick up a tube of Embryolisse moisturising cream - it's gorgeous and also a double pack of Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray.

Thanks for all your suggestions. We stayed up in the mountains, so shopping opportunities were thin on the ground, but I did stock up on Le Petit Marseillais shower gels and some fantastic Les Cosmetiques body lotion from Carrefour.
