I'm stuck for ideas.

converse.

Polyhymnia are those shoes comfy? Have had my eye on them for a while...

Trainers or ankle boots depending on how smart I need to be. Knee-high boots if I'm wearing leggings but I do tend to get a bit warm that way.

I've been wearing my Timberland boots in this rainy weather. Been brill as feet don't seem to get hot in them and boots waterproof so great for stomping through the puddles and mud.

Mostly leather: either ballet pumps or Mary Janes. Or a closed-toe sandally type thing.

Here's a selection of my current not-baking-hot-day footwear:

comfy ballet type

hush puppies - really comfy but keep them away from gravel thanks to the covered heel

I also rate Caprice mary-janes - the ones I bought last year seem to be discontinued but they are supremely comfortable, lovely padding in the sole, my feet just smile when I put them on, and I think their others would be similar.

Also fabric, "sporty" Mary Janes from people like Lands End or Cotton Traders (I got mine from a Sunday supplement sale ad) - not great for a downpour, but the rubber outsole will keep you reasonably dry in most British wet pavement scenarios.

this type of thing

converse, feet are fine but the wet travels up my jeans which is annoying.

PlanetEarth · 17/06/2011 20:59

Ankle boots. Mostly too cold for sandals where I live - I'm just resigned to wearing autumn/winter type clothes most of the year...

Converse (leather or canvas), but also hate the water soaking up my jeans legs. It was pouring down today and cold, so I wore my Celtic Sheepskin aqua lamb boots.

LolaLadybird · 17/06/2011 21:41

I have been wearing these today. My answer to Converse and I love them. Hugely comfortable and keep my feet dry - think it might be the rubber toe and surround. I have the same problem others have mentioned with the hem of my jeans getting wet tho'.

Amber - yes, very comfortable - are in sale but not sure without checking if it's only the blue ones or the nice grey/ brown ones as well.
