Jigsaw Amelie bag

Looking for opinions on this bag
www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001368/J12041/GY016/sale/leather-amelie-shopper

I ordered this online as in need of a new work bag and looked like a bargain! It's bigger than I thought, but this could be a positive, I don't travel that lightly.... but also the leather hasn't got that lovely soft feel ( possibly why in sale as certainly wouldn't pay £250 for it).
I do like the peony and moore one that has been recommended on here but it's not really big enough. Willing to pat up to £250 or could just stick with the jigsaw bag and buy something else!

Newchoos saw the tan version today in Kingston store- they dont have it online- you get a lot of leather bag for your £79

update on Boden bag

Quick update as must go and bath DS rather than browse sale items!

Graphite slouch bag has arrived, lovely soft leather, nice lining, not too big, think is better than Jigsaw bag and fairly sure I will keep this and return the Jigsaw bag (too similar to need both).

Thinking of getting the Boden one in graphite and trying to hold nerve till sale. Presumably it has no downsides, NewChoos or you wouldn't be keeping it?

NewChoos · 17/06/2011 12:55

I think the only negative is that I'm not sure how sturdy it is. Although I seem to remember someone did a 'tin' test on another thread and it was fine?? or I may be getting confused with bags....
I am going to keep it anyway as it's different to anything I have got (so a vital addition) and it's lovely and looks more expensive than it is.

Would they reduce in the sale more than the 20% and the £25 off code though although the sales do seem good so far from what I have seen and just about to order a phase 8 dress (DS having a nap now!)

I have finally made up my mind and will be returning the jigsaw bag later anyway.

Sorry for waffling on.

Ordered the Judith bag but only to be told it's out of stockSad

Must say I am really tempted by the Amelie bag for AW. Is it a heavy bag (as the leather isnt soft)? Torn between the colours too but think the graphite wins.
Oh Jigsaw why so many tempting things when I have so little spare cash Sad

winefairy · 17/06/2011 19:03

NewChoos It was me that did the 'tin test' on the other thread! Glad you like your Boden bag too and agree it looks more expensive than it was. I am really considering the graphite colour too but can't work out what colour it is?!

polyhymnia Can't believe you've not ordered it yet! Wink

PercyPigPie · 17/06/2011 19:29

I was really tempted by the Boden one too. I ordered the metropolitan shopper from Boden, but felt it was a bit gloomy. The reviews on the slouchy one showed a few people questioning how robust it would be, so glad to hear that it survived the tin test (whatever the tin test is!).

moragbellingham · 18/06/2011 08:41

What is the "tin" test?
My graphite one arrived yesterday but am not in love with it. I have issues about it not having a zip too.

winefairy · 18/06/2011 10:20

Someone over on the other thread had asked me if the Boden bag was comfortable when heavy so in the interest of science I filled it with tins and walked round.

polyhymnia · 18/06/2011 10:44

winefairy - no neither can I!! Decided to wait till sale but that means I'm neurotically checking it's still there twice a day!!
