What is the best way to get rid of dry skin on your feet, forever?

I have neglected my feet for ages (don't even get me started on my toenails), but now I want to give them a makeover.

I have dry, flaky skin around my heels and have tried one of those Scholl pumice stone things but tbh its not making much difference.

What's the best way to get them looking baby soft?

My friend used to do hers with a stanley knife, but I'd prefer something a bit less dangerous Grin

Aqueous cream is a terrible moisturiser. It dries and thins your skin and was only ever meant to be a soap substitute.

This sounds a bit mental but completely worked for me. If they are really dry: wash well and exfoliate a bit then before bed rub them with the inside of a banana skin, put on socks, leave on over night. Wash well in the morning. They will feel much better.

Works everytime for me.

This is the best thing I've bought to date
Footner and similar are great but you can't do them thru the summer for obvious scaley reasons!

Footner all the way, or at least the cheapo alternative on amazon. Just look for exfoliating socks and leave on for an hour and a half, vaseline the top of your foot if you don't want that to peel.

Smooshface · 20/06/2015 13:00

I tried that baby foot thing (think it is the same as footner), but i'm still with lots of crap dry skin and stuff, so i should have saved my money and spent on chiropodist i guess!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 20/06/2015 13:06

These are the ones I have used and they removed everything. I did leave them on for the full hour and a half.

Beaverfeaver2 · 20/06/2015 16:56

My feet went soft and lost the dry skin when I stopped wearing heels every day.
I didn't have to do a thing

Body Shop do an amazing peppermint foot scrub - that and just a pumice stone has sorted my feet out really well!

Melonfool · 21/06/2015 14:17

CCS is the cream chiropodists use. Can get it in Boots.

I am trying superdrug glycolic overnight peel on my feet for sloughing off some of the dry skin. Almond oil worked really well for softening, too.

Oh my days Shock

dexter73 · 22/06/2015 17:45

Oooh that video Shock!! My heels can get a bit like that if I leave them! Yes to chiropodist, then scrape weekly with Microplane. I moisturise my feet every day but just use normal moisturiser.

TealFanClub · 22/06/2015 17:53

I use a corn remover that looks like a cheese slicer. You just replace the blades. Molto satisfying
