Ignoring all the shit about linen trousers, could I wear a smart pair for interview?

They are taupe/mink colour ,not baggy on my arse fit well.
It is for community nursing post so not office based .
Would have to wear with high heel wedges and black top.
Am worried it may be under dressed but don't really want to have to get whole new outfit.
Other options are ...well fuck all really.Cheap work trousers from matalan or summat I guess.

well I would worry that if I sat done before the interview I would resemble a hessian sack .

but an interview outfit for me doesn't include the words linen trousers or a cardi

i always wear either a suit or a skirt and shirt

but 100 posters will probably tell you you'll be fine

are you pretty sure you'll get the job? because if you're resume is very impressive and you tick all the boxes they might not care

I wouldn't if I had a choice, it seems a bit too casual and because linen creases so badly I'd probably end up looking all crumpled by the time I got into the interview. I tend to think you can't go wrong with a suit for interviews, failing that would go for smart/tailored work trousers with a shirt or smart top, it's generally better to be a bit over-dressed than under-dressed if in doubt.
