I did use black, but bought a brown one yesterday and love it.

Am updating my make-up collection and enjoying it!

these threads are like the 'what are you having for tea?' ones don't you think cod? eh? eh?

any brown cheap one if and when I wear any - I find moistened powder shadow softer.

Jools, these are a million times more interesting!

Agree on sometimes using eyeshadow as an eyeliner for a subtle look

I think mac eyeshadow and blushers are fab

Dark grey eyeliner - Superdrug's own is the best for me - no stinging eyes.

sammac · 30/11/2005 19:50

The Stila ones are lovely and soft, with a smudgy bit at the other end, AND you can unscrew it in the middle to get a smudgy shadow which is thicker than the pencil. The colour I use is a khaki/browny shade which suits my hazel eyes (their eye-shadow is lovely too!)

gingerbear · 30/11/2005 19:51

clinique khaki, brown and grey. 2-ender - one end sponge n sparkly, t'other a soft pencil.
All in my bargain bag - perk of the company I work for who supply lanolin to Estee Lauder et al.

Whizzz · 30/11/2005 19:51

Black & smokey grey (ie paler black !)
Avon - Glimmerstix - they are ace!

sammac · 30/11/2005 19:53

I took back a Dior mascara which I bought on Saturday as it was dry as a bone( cost 17.50) Dior girl not there and the Chanel girl helped out. Told me that the best mascaras around just now are L'oreal ones( it's all to do with the brush apparently!) Got a refund of a tenner and will try it out. ( And got to keep my free gift)

Cadeauxbury · 30/11/2005 19:58

lucky you gingerbear (hello btw

I use a brown one most of the time (bog standard Rimmel I think) but occasionally use a black or dark green one in combination if I want a really dramatic effect.

donnie · 30/11/2005 20:07

an estee lauder one ( can't remember name ) but I have had it over 10 years and it is FAB!!! black, natch!

gingerbear · 30/11/2005 20:15

cooee Cadders. Very festive m'dear.

marthamoo · 30/11/2005 20:20

Brown - it's a cunning little wind-up Maybelline one with a built-in sharpener at one end. That's on brown days.

Purple - Bourjois. That's for purple and/or green days.

Dark grey - No.7. That's for going out.

Used to wear black liquid eyeliner in my sad Goth days...in big swoopy Egyptian stylee wings

fishie · 30/11/2005 22:13

What did the fish's DH bring her back from the States?

fishie · 01/12/2005 09:59

sounds very attractive and would work well on me, but would need really good mascara recommendation to get me into iut - fibres give me itches and must be removable with soap and water. also have greenish eyes, purple or brown might be nice?
