I have a dress for an afternoon/evening wedding...

...after seeing it mentioned on another thread (possibly 2) and thought it was lovely. Could you tell me if you think it's okay for an afternoon wedding and evening reception.

Dress

I normally exist in baggy boyfriend jeans / t-shirts / sneakers and dressing up takes me way out of my comfort zone!

If I wore it, what shoes would work with it? Could I get away with flat pretty sandals of some description? And if it gets cold? A shrug? In grey? Or summat! Help!

It's lovely! And yes...think you'll have to glam it up though...is your the navy or the brown one? A bolero cardi would be pretty and keep the nice line of the waist on the dress showing. I like this bright pinky red but cream, brown (or navy if it's the blue dress) would also be ok...if you did go with red/pink you could have pink shoes

Is there any chance I could get away with flat sandals (pretty sandals!) do you think? I'm really bad with shoes living as I do in converse type plimsols most of the time!

It arrived, and it's navy
It feels quite, erm, fitted, but I'm sure I got the right size, I just always wear loose-fitting clothes, so anything fitted feels strange.
It does look really nice though and am going down the bolero route to go with it.
Having said I would prefer to wear flats, what do you think of these with it:

wedges?

I think they'd look nice, but I don't know if they're smart enough for a wedding - I honestly am crap with smart occasions though, so please tell me if they're not suitable!!

I wore something like this to a similar do - but fitted sleeves, not bell ones. Bare legs, high heels, worked fine.

Were you linking to the dress? It's fab but I hate my legs so am embracing the maxi trend this year!! Was it a good do?
Do you think those shoes would work with the dress, or are they too casual? I haven't even factored in that I have quite broad trotters feet, so they may not even work for that reason!

Yes, the shoes are lovely. Plus, you can wear them again - wedding was brilliant, and so much fun. Hope you enjoy yours
