I want to treat myself to a 'good' bag

Please help me find something. I want it to be tan so a good all year round colour with 2 long-ish shoulder straps. I really like the LK Bennett Annina but it looks like it's sold out in tan. That sort of size anyway, not too big.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I just bought a Lucia last night after reading all the threads mentioning it. It better be good! It looks gorgeous. I already have an Evangelina that I use for work. I figure I can alternate between that and the Lucia, as I don't need to cart A4 notepads about every day.

BrandyAlexander · 11/06/2011 09:09

Oh the Lucia bag is gorgeous! Thanks for the tip :)

Sorry - I got the camel colour. Tis so lovely I nearly took it to bed last night so I could give it a cuddle when I woke up. Grin

JennaTailor · 11/06/2011 14:09

saw this on sale

chardom · 11/06/2011 16:23

That amelie bag is lovely in graphite

winefairy · 11/06/2011 17:07

Sorry to butt in but I'm having bag dilemmas too. I really want the Lucia in camel but is it really only appropriate for high summer? (High summer?! Hmm Why does that make me sound like an idiot?)

I really like the new tan one but do prefer the camel. I'm torturing myself trying to decide between the two. Can anyone help a dithery old fool decide?

madammecholet · 11/06/2011 17:38

I've got the camel winefairy and it does seem to go with everything in my wardrobe. Do you wear brown shoes/boots? Maybe match the bag to what you wear most of?

The camel is really very lovely, and I am very pleased with it.

bertyboy · 11/06/2011 17:46

I have the camel...its a very versatile colour, but I've seen the new tan and thats lovely too...

PercyPigPie · 11/06/2011 19:08

Jenna and Chardom - have you seen that bag in the flesh? I rushed into town just now, having seen it on-line and was disappointed. It was OK value for £79, but the leather was not very good quality imo and I can't imagine they sold many at £249 (hence them being in the sale I suppose).

Any other suggestions from our resident bag expert madammecholet?

TuttoRhino · 11/06/2011 19:35

Has anyone got the grey Lucia? That's the one I bought - still available via Red Direct and with a subscriber discount so cheaper than P&M website. Now feeling I should go with the tan as it looks fantastic. But then I wear a lot of black and jewel tones so grey possibly more sensible. Hmm.

winefairy · 11/06/2011 20:19

It's so difficult. Thank you madammecholet and bertyboy for your help. I know the tan would probably match with more things I already have but I'm fussy about shades of tan and I still so love the camel. May have to be brave and order both since they do free returns.

It's foolish though. I'm going to want to keep them both, aren't I?! Blush Confused

Megatron · 11/06/2011 22:34

I'm sorely tempted by the tan but the camel is really beautiful. I'm so pleased with it.

madammecholet · 11/06/2011 23:54

winefairy only way to find out i'm afraid....

Mudandmayhem whats your budget and what do you want it to do and i'll have a rummage around?Grin

PercyPigPie · 12/06/2011 09:47

Ohh thank you MadamCh. My budget is really quite low, but I want a nice, big, good quality leather bag. It needs to be at least 40cm width and 30ish cm high as I always seem to end up stuffing the odd waterproof, sun lotion and bottle of water into my bag when with the children.

Ideally £100 in the sale would be good!, £150 would be OK or maybe a tiny bit more, but I'd really rather not.

madammecholet · 12/06/2011 11:53

Mudandmayham here are a few in the right size, under £150...

Oooh, thank you MadamCh. I particularly like the 2nd from bottom JL one. Typically, I prefer it in tan, which is not in the sale, but I notice there are free returns. I think I will buy one [or maybe two, to see colour]. Thanks so much Smile.

PercyPigPie · 12/06/2011 12:53

Ordered in chocolate for now Grin. V excited.

madammecholet · 12/06/2011 13:01

Glad to have been of service.....!

madammecholet · 12/06/2011 13:03

dancergirl what did you decide in the end?

Dancergirl · 12/06/2011 22:24

I have ordered the Lucia in tan! Very excited now to see it!

winefairy · 13/06/2011 07:58

Peony and Moore will be experiencing a mini flurry on Lucia's!

I ordered it in tan and camel and will try to choose between the two. I am already praying to the handbag Gods to give me the strength to return one.

Recently had the same situation trying to decide between Lily and Lionel scarves. That didn't end well! Blush

Megatron · 13/06/2011 08:06

Madamecholet what are you trying to do to me with all the bags? I adore the chocolate Bunty. I need to have it! Stop it! Grin

madammecholet · 13/06/2011 09:41

Grin Sorry, I am pushing my addiction onto everyone else. I will stop. .. I think I might be the handbag fairy........

polyhymnia · 13/06/2011 11:13

winefairy, I did same thing with L and L scarves this winter, having discovered them on MN, like P and M. Of course I kept both, which couldn't really afford! They are lovely though.

Also planning to order a Lucia in next few months but am set on tan (I think).
