Anyone done their own dental hygenist scraping?

Its a nightmare to get an appointment - and have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks.
Are their any tools out there that I could do in between my front teeth even?

You can buy a scraper (not sure of the official name) and little dental mirror set in Boots
