Help! Best touch up regrowth grey hair dye to use between salon visits

Hi,
At the moment I have my hair coloured at a salon every 7 weeks but recently the regrowth is getting a bit noticable at around 5 weeks.
Any ideas of a decent reasonably price dye which maybe I could just brush through the roots just to take the edge off the regrowth and last the final couple of weeks??
I am naturally a warm dark brown.
HELP!!!

Nice and Easy root touch up. Nothing else compares.

Yes I use the Root Touch Up as well. Very good results.

Don't do it! Your hairdresser will then have an awful job working round what you've done. Or it could cost you more getting her to do corrective colouring. Just bring your appointment forward a week.

My hairdresser has never had any problem with me using root touch up and its never caused ay extra work/hassle, Ive been doing this for years and usually gets me an extra 3-4 weeks between appointments so saves a lot of money. Hope that helps

I asked my hairdresser years ago how to do single process hair dye (I've been about 40 pct grey since early 20s) because basically I don't think 40-60 quid is money well spent on a dye job at the hairdresser when you have to go all the time. Plus with a kid I don't have the time to go frequently.

He advised me and I've been doing this ever since.

I can get professional results with Majirel or Clynol in a 75-25 mix of cool and warm tone (4.3 and 5.0 I think I use) and a 9 percent (pre-softening around the temples while I mix the colour) and apply only to the roots with a brush and run it through at the last minute. Rinse and condition (I do curly girl so no dimethicone) and dry using black towel.

This basically costs about a fiver each time I dye, and with dark hair and a lot of grey, this is realistically every 3-4 weeks.

Basically, once you've mastered applying to the roots only (to avoid overlaying it and blackening the hair shaft) and then dragging it through for the last 5-10 minutes, you're doing what the hairdresser would do anyway. It's not a huge skill job, not like highlights or complicated colouring.

Sally's is the shop you can get all this stuff.

Should add, I use a 9 pct and not a 20 pct peroxide developer. Some hairdressers say you need 20 pct with greys, but I find 9 pct is fine if I presoften - 20 pct is too harsh for me.

Sorry, meant 6 pct not 9 pct. I get my percents and volumes mixed up!
