Sweet. Perfect for the school run.

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 23:31

You'll be sorry when Kate MIddleton is wearing them in Hollywood

Mabelface · 28/05/2011 23:32

Fuck me, they look like instruments of torture.

Carrotsandcelery · 28/05/2011 23:39

Oh no! I have just bought a wrap dress on ebay because Mumsnet told me they were the most flattering dresses.

Will I look a complete frump?

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 23:41

linky!

Carrotsandcelery · 28/05/2011 23:42

I have been trying to but now I have bought it ebay won't let me look at it.

I have a sinking feeling Grin

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 23:44

Carrotsandcelery · 28/05/2011 23:46

It is this one here although this is not the one I bought as it won't let me see it now.

It is frumpy isn't it?

TragicallyHip · 28/05/2011 23:47

I hate wrap dresses.

Those trousers are fucking wrong cyb, just wrong!

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 23:47

I like that print- it's bargainous isn't it?

Mabelface · 28/05/2011 23:48

Ebay will let you look, you just need to scroll further down the page.

Carrotsandcelery · 28/05/2011 23:49

I do remember seeing a flatmate's girlfriend in our flat one day and wondering why she was in her dressing gown. Turns out it was a wrap dress that she was wearing for a job interview Blush

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 23:50

ha ha
I have a dressing gown that I kid myself is suitable for wearing around the house/garden etc...

Carrotsandcelery · 28/05/2011 23:52

Oh well, maybe an alternative use for the ebay dress I have just bought Grin

TigerseyeMum · 29/05/2011 13:06

I love my wrap dresses and I'm not giving them up fr anyone.

Likewise tunic dresses with leggings and tunics with skinny jeans.

If they suit me then I wear them. Fuck fashion.

Carrotsandcelery · 29/05/2011 14:05

You are right Tiger. I will wait and judge once my dress arrives.

madammecholet · 29/05/2011 16:22

I have the isabella oliver wrap dress with long sleeves in black, very good with norkage and v slimming imo. The short sleeve one has more fabric on the bust and looks mumsy.. I wear with black patent 6" heels and a leopard clutch bag, lots of gold accessories and always feel fab.

here

also recently got this, tighter fit but double layer jersey so very very supportive. V neck much lower than on model...

fixed wrap dress

Again, really flippin useful. I love them.

TrillianAstra · 29/05/2011 16:23

Not really.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 29/05/2011 16:29

I think they fit me well but it all depends on the print, whether they look dressing gown or high fashion.

tooworried · 29/05/2011 16:31

Madammecholet - those are beautiful dresses. Can you wash them or are they dry clean jobbies?

HandMini · 29/05/2011 16:32

Love wrap dresses, and although it's a cliche, having tried heaps of different ones the DVF ones are really v good and more flattering than most. I have a hips and booby type figure...never really thought about whether they would work for the flat-chested.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 29/05/2011 16:34

I love wrap dresses but surely they are terrible if you bum is in anyway wobbly? When I was pregnant, I always lusted after Isabella Oliver but when my order showed up it hugged my bum and looked terrible. Is that just me then?

madammecholet · 29/05/2011 18:06

tooworried they're machine washable which is perfect! Heavy jersey too so they hang really well.

I've been really pleased with them both...

DonaAna · 29/05/2011 18:12

I'm slim and B-cup and wrap dresses do nothing for me. I have a silk DVF wrap dress and beautiful bright red organic cotton one from Australia. While both are gorgeous garments, I find them slightly difficult to wear - too much cleavage flash and the risk of thigh exposure. I feel I need a slip with both of them which kind of undoes the convenience of wearing a wrap dress. TBH, normal dresses are so much easier to wear. However, they probably work well if you are a hourglass figure.

motherinferior · 29/05/2011 18:18

Depends on your shape. I am not actually mad keen on the whole overall look of a wrap but they suit my body very well.
