I'm a warm, deep, clear - but can't remember what colours I should wear?

All this talk of colours got me thinking - I'm sure I've had mine done and I have but I cant find my colour swatches and Colour me whatever have changed the types.

So what should a warm, deep, clear be wearing? I do navy and orange but struggling with other colours.

Thank you mittenkittens :)

Definitely go before colouring your hair < bossy >.

The consultant will no doubt advise you as to the best shades for you (your hairdresser should be doing this, but it seems few do).

Your summer child would be fine in navy. Smile
Looking forward to you reporting back!

I am going to get my colours done. There, I've said it.

WEll I've looked at all those links and they are fascinating, but i'm still none the wiser. Grin I thought I was an autumn, but having looked at those I now think I'm porbably a winter, but which winter is anyones' guess. Anyway, I think I do have an intrinsic sense of what suits me and I know for sure when I've got a colour wrong because I look sallow and dead!

Which companies would you people most recommend for proper consultations? I might like to get this for my mum and my sis for birthdays.

Stylelostinlabour · 28/05/2011 19:25

Oh good idea I will contact consultant and see if they will sell me a new one

I just pray I don't end up looking like this.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 28/05/2011 20:13

I'd recommend House of Colour - but then I'm sure people will recommend whichever company they have personal experience of.
(If anyone's near Cheltenham, there's a fab consultant there who trained with HoC but is now independent.)
I just get the impression the other systems are confusing - to me, having a set of colours and knowing which ones will suit me more than others and to what degree is enough information.

I also disapprove of all this talk of everyone being able to wear black. < stern look >

But the best thing, I reckon, is the style consultation, which you can do after your colours. You then learn how to dress to suit your style 'personality,' as well as your shape and lifestyle, and it's quite an eye-opener.

Eg, La Collins is a Dramatic, which is why she goes all-out for the sharp shoulders and exaggerated styles with make up and clothing. Cher is another one.

That's what I'm worried about too Mittenkitten!

Having to shop at Boden and only buy things called "hotch-potch" or "Fun"

Looking like I got tangled up in a Jo-Jingles paraschute as I walked out the door

And with a face like the entire Mac eyeshadow display ejaculated all over me.

Or just <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.dreampowercostumes.com/images/pix/adult%2Brainbow%2Bbright.png&imgrefurl=www.dreampowercostumes.com/costumes/adult/rainbow%2Bbright/&usg=__ebukbkiivTdN6vQLkV0RAogA94U=&h=338&w=143&sz=19&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=L8eosK4hGO4wuM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=33&ei=EEzhTaGdJISj-gbJk6iDBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Drainbow%2Bbright%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG%26biw%3D1192%26bih%3D536%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&page=1&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:0&tx=37&ty=41&biw=1192&bih=536" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Like this ...

Tatty, where did you get that picture of me?!

I saw a woman of about 60 dropping her DGD off at our school on Friday and she was dressed very stylishly for her age, very well accessorised etc, but she was dressed entirely in various shades of deep purple and plum. Every single thing from shoes, tights, skirt, blouse, jacket, scarf, beads, and ....hair! Honestly her hair was actually proper purple. I think she may have been taking this 'what colour suits you' thing a bit too seriously. Confused

TattyDevine · 29/05/2011 08:22

That's us in 20 years, Mitten... Shock

RockOnMrs · 29/05/2011 08:35

I'd recommend House of Colour too.

It changed my life! Grin www.houseofcolour.co.uk

OP, if you're stuck, you could have a look at the online Kettlewell catalogue as they have a section where they group "matching" colours together ... would this help if you've lost your colour swatches? www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk (I'd be a bit wary of their sizing before you buy from them! and also of their styles too, I bought a couple of tops from them and the fit was awful)

I'm a Blue Spring, which is Bright and Clear, by the way - basically I can wear most of the Spring colours, plus a few from Summer and Winter - v. confusing!

If you're Warm, I'd have thought you'd be Autumn ... I'm pretty sure that Summer is Cool, and I know that my next-door neighbour is Winter and there's no way she can wear orange. Can you remember if your basic skin tone is blue or yellow?? Blue = summer & winter; yellow = spring and autumn (unless you also have shades of blue like me, always complicated).

RockOnMrs · 29/05/2011 08:35

Oooh, purple hair, I want!!

mittenkittenhasthumbs · 29/05/2011 13:15

Grin Tatty.

Actually what I'm most worried about is that they will tell me my best colours are grey and black, and that it's not going to get any better than this . . . .

TattyDevine · 29/05/2011 19:59

Don't worry Mitten, I'm sure you'll be able to embrace your inner Easter Egg.
