Pretty, casualish, interesting tops - have you seen anything nice?

I'm thinking tshirty things or vest tops but with some detail or pattern to make them a bit interesting.

No writing or pictures please.

Ideally nothing that will make me look pregnant.

Budget up to £20 per top - I need a few I think.

Ok get thee to H and M where they ahve boxy style but not too voluminous tee shirt tops whicih look good with rolled up trews and heels or skinnies etc.

About £8 each I ahve navy blue with sort of stone coloured spots and a cream one with tiny holes punched out of it. Sounds vile but is very useful

I also have a boxy black lace material round neck top from there which I ahve worn and worn

Looks interesting - why is it so wide? Is that supposed to be good? Is it flattering somehow? Or is the point of fashion that it isn't flattering?

I have this top and I absolutely love it. It may not look like the most exciting top from the picture but it looks great on and has a nice zip feature down the back. I wish they did it in other colours as I would buy all of them!

Its wide as its a modern take on a traditional tee shirt which , lets face it, is DEE YOU ELL ELL. It shows off a slender neck and decolletee (sp) and arms. MAkes the rest of you look slimmer

Hmm, I hadn't thought to look in Phase Eight as I thought it was a) expensive b) for older people.

F'rinstance, I like this cowl neck top but f I have a cowl I want it to hint that it might show some boobs, whereas this has loads of safety material across so there could never ever be even a hint of cleavage.

Oh yes, I wouldn't ever wear just a normal t-shirt, unless I was making some kind of point.

Phase Eight is expensive and some of the stuff is for grannies but some of it is surprisingly nice and they do have good sales.

"Get thee to H&M" is probably the right advice, but I will end up getting depressed by the mess, and by the fact that their sizes are all weird, and buying something that was not at all what I went in for just because it is only £10.

I like that zip one - what a pity it's only in white. It has a slight Whistles vibe to it but is cheaper!

H&M need Mary Portas to sort them out so they display their things nicely and make it so you can find stuff.
