Perfume for a teenager

plainwhitet · 21/05/2011 18:08

can anyone suggest a lovely, light perfume for a teenager? My dd wants me to choose one for her, for her 15th birthday and I have no idea where to start. As all I have worn for the last few years is Clarins red bottle one whose name I cannot even remember, I am not a particularly good role model here ...

Eurphoria by Calvin Klein is a nice one!

Chanel cristelle?

Tea You really should try wearing No5, it does have a scent that makes you feel ever so sexy! It's always in my handbag just incase I need a moment of extra confidence. :o

And I shall try L'instant next time I am in Debenhams. Even the bottle looks lovely!

OP Another one is Pink Cookie, I think you can buy it from International and boots, imo, it looks like an Ed Hardy rip off but smells lovely and is designed for teenagers.

Hi - Mary Kay does a really gorgeous perfume pencil called Tranquil Waters which is lovely and light, and as it is in the form of a pencil can be just stroked onto pulse points etc, carried around and is really gorgeous.

Nooo not Cristalle! My 50 year old mother wears that...I think it would smell extremely odd on a 15 yr old!

ContraryMartha · 22/05/2011 13:57

The Katy Perry perfume is very light.

Chanel Cristlle now have a 'cristalle vert' range which is light and lovely.

If you are near a Hollister store pop in to try the perfume - they are really nice - my 14 yo loves one called 'maia' or something like that I think they spray the store and clothes with it as well!!

Miss Dior Cherie. Lovely (and I'm 23).

Just don't make the mistake my parents made one Christmas and get Miss Dior. Old granny perfume doesn't even begin to describe that one :(

RainbowShite · 22/05/2011 20:57

Yes I think I meant cristelle vert

Sanesometimes1 · 22/05/2011 22:51

Would also sugges getting the little pack of minatures, 5 or so perfumes so that she has a choice and perhaps gets a favourite ?

Oh some lovely, lovely ideas here and I so enjoyed the description of 15 year olds, think mine is: tall, long blonde hair, gorgeous, not quite into boys (I think - at co ed school so too tall for her age group boys and too young for the older ones - I think...); hangs out with girls at the weekend but goes to mixed parties; sadly miles and miles from LOndon - so some really good ideas here and shall rush to our nearest glamorous store (that'll be house of fraser, then ...) and try a few you have suggested. Thank you all!

Ahhh Cristalle Eau Verte is lovely. My 50 year old mother wears that as well- but it's ok as I would wear it too (I'm 23)

pigalow · 30/12/2021 00:17

My DD 17 wears YSL Libre and smells wonderful.

I was going to say Anais Anais (I still love this one!) but also for a cheaper option, it's hard to beat White Musk by the Body Shop if they still make it.
