That really is awful, tinker. Looks like something a nun might wear on a non uniform day. If they get non-uniform days.

motherinferior · 12/11/2005 18:59

I actually do have an aunt who is a nun (convert) and yes she'd wear that.

aloha · 12/11/2005 18:59

Tinker - that cardigan is HILARIOUS. 'Hilda' cardigan indeed!

yoyo · 12/11/2005 19:02

Enid - I got that skirt as a sample when they were trying it out. £40 but is a lilac/purple/blue colour. Have never worn it sadly. Can't think what to wear on top and it sits very low on hips (not good look with current girth). Often have samples in Llandeilo shop. Got a fantastic leather bag for a fraction of the price that I saw it in Selfridges sometime later. They always have the nightwear on offer too. Sizing can be a bit hit and miss I find.

my mum used to buy from something called Heather Valley which i think must have been owned by the grandparents of Toast

One of the advantages of going to my mil's is being 5 miles away from the Toast Shop, so you can see how well made, but drab, the clothes are without paying to send them back from the catalogue. No wonder that cardi was called Hilda, Mrs Ogden herself would not be seen in it!

the scary thing about that top Cod, is it says now available in size 20 &22. I'm a 20 and would not dare wear a sleeveless top for fear of looking like bubbles de vere from little britain in her wrap around towel.

marthamoo · 12/11/2005 19:08

Nasty and they still don't have the £50 socks.

I bought that hat in your link, cod - bottom right - but in brown not purple. I keep putting it on, heading for the front door, glancing in the mirror, and taking it off again.

marthamoo · 12/11/2005 19:12

I remember them from last time around though. I had some black ones with a gold bow.

yoyo · 12/11/2005 19:12

I like that Cod and it would lovely with the trousers I bought last year which are too tight at present. Might take skirt with me to Monsoon and try out a few as there are quite a few that I fancy. Shame for skirt to be stuck in Wardrobe.

In your kelicia link - on the Accessorize homepage, bottom right.

I tried on some toast stuff in selfridges last week. I loved the trousers, they looked really nice. Also liked the double layer top and a really cool cardigan which I am thinking of buying my Mum for xmas. the woman working there had on the red and white skirt which I would never in a million years have chosen but she looked amazing in it. she was a size 14/16 but with red tango shoes she looked like kirsty from LLL, who I personally like. I visited my in-laws in south wales recently and was amazed to find a toast shop in Llandeilo. I thought what the bugger is that doing there but apparently the designer lives nearby.

yoyo · 12/11/2005 19:48

Bosscat - Llandeilo is very up and coming. Toast, fab kitchen shop, coffee house, Hotel being done up in chic boutique style.. House prices are increasing too. Always worth a visit and take children to Dynevor for hike to castle afterwards.

roosmum · 12/11/2005 19:53

yoyo - whereabouts are you?
haven't been to llandeilo in a long while (living up north), do they still have that pub with the tomos watkins (i think??) beer??

yoyo · 12/11/2005 19:58

Roosmum - no longer in the area but all my family are so go there fairly frequently. Is it your old stamping ground? Don't know the pubs in Llandeilo but know the Cennen in Trap quite well.

roosmum · 12/11/2005 20:08

oooh, trap, that takes me back to when i was tiny! lots of 'spins' in the car to carreg cennen & suchlike...lovely!

yoyo · 12/11/2005 20:11

'Spins'!! I say that all the time. Amazing what classed as entertainment when I was young.
