Is 'illuminating' moisturiser worth the money?

Am currently using No7 bog standard day and night moisturiser - their 'lift and illuminate' moisturiser is about double the price but am willing to pay it if it will give me glowing skin which looks fab.

So will it?

I use an Yves rocher Inosotol one and would definately buy it again. Theres not much point if you are going to cover it with heavy make up, I use the clinique superpowder double face powder lightly over the top and to be honest I prefer it to a normal moisturiser.

I currently use a tinted moisturiser over the top - I want that 'dewy' look that is always talked about in magazines!!

I have suffered from bad acne for about 10 years but have finally found something that has cleared it up so actually have a face/skin that I am proud of so I want to show it off Grin

Wow what did you use?

ceebeegeebies · 19/05/2011 21:26

Alfie I use benzoyl peroxide (you can buy tubes of it at the chemist) - there is a whole specific regime to go with it - I can provide the link if you want it.

It was tough at first as the benzoyl peroxide can make your skin red and very dry but if you persevere with it, it totally works Grin

My skin has never looked so good Smile

no, it will either itch and/or you will look glittery

ooh go on then ceebeegeebies, please. I stopped getting spots when I had dd but now there coming back. I do find if I put stuff on them though, they flare up more than if you leave them alone.

ceebeegeebies · 19/05/2011 21:43

here you go Smile

You do need to try and follow the instructions - well I have and I really don't want to tempt fate by veering off them now Grin

I started it in January and had a rough couple of weeks where my skin was burning and flaking like you wouldn't believe but I am so glad I stuck with it although my spots were only ever on my chin, jaw and neck as I am not sure I could have faced doing my whole face.

Have had about 3 spots since (all around my period) and nothing for the last couple of months.

I use this stuff, and No.7 foaming cleanser and No. 7 moisturisers.

I have tried the lift and luminate - it's a con, my skin looked no different than if I used just bog standrard no 7.

ceebeegeebies · 19/05/2011 21:45

Sorry, should also have mentioned that it contains bleach so you need to be very careful what you do once you have it on your face. I put one DH's old t-shirts over the pillow if I do it straight before bedtime and more than one of the DC's PJ's have got bleach marks on it when I have given them a cuddle Blush

Amothersplace thanks for that - that is the kind of information I need as I really don't want to spend double the money if it is pointless!

Recommend this. Had several compliments today off people who I see daily but who noticed my skin looked different.

Got it on the basis of this recommendation.

It is the illuminating one and I wear it over my moisturiser

thanks ceebeegeebies
