I know it's going to be exhausting... is black jogging bottoms and MBT style trainers acceptable, or will I regret it and feel like a frump????

Hmmmmm, I'd suggest you might want to go a little bit smarter than that : ) Full of very stylish Europeans when I was there. I went for dark wash jeans, metallic lace up pumps and and nice cardis and I often felt a little casually dressed compared to people queueing beside me....

goodegg · 18/05/2011 21:59

Really Gilly ? I found myself goggling at the multitude of poor taste eurotrash when we went! I'd def say comfort over style, you'll still be the most stylish there! My advice: bright warm coat to look nice in pics and keep you cosy, jeans, flat boots.

Gillybobs · 18/05/2011 22:02

Well it was 5 years ago, maybe things have gone downhill in the eurozone : ) Def agree to go for comfort, LOTS of walking. What about nice stylish parka and a floral scarf?

KaraToytown · 18/05/2011 22:02

Last time I went I don't think many people bothered to pack deodorant.

Jeans, top, jacket and comfy shoes should do it.

Vi8 · 18/05/2011 22:08

Oh no! Two contrasting opinions here...still confused, so keep it coming s'il vous plait!

comfy shoes and layers would be my tips.

if it was me I would be wearing jeans, flat boots, long sleeve t, cardigan, scarf, jacket....

Vi8 · 19/05/2011 16:45

Thanks, should I assume it's colder? I'm going for half term!

OP posts:
goodegg · 19/05/2011 17:21

It was v windy and chilly when we went, although that was back in April. You'll be outside all day and on your feet si layers and a backpack to keep layers in would be sensible.

Vi8 · 19/05/2011 18:14

Thanks Goodegg!

Enjoy!

We're going on half term too.
I usually wear dark jeans, a casual top and thicker jumper for the eves. But this time we're going it's due to be 20- 21*c so I'll be wearing cropped straight leg trousers, flat ballet bumps and a nice top, with a cardi in my bag and then a fleece for later! I know fleeces aren't really S+B, but they're great for sitting on whilst waiting for the parade.

DoubleDegreeStudent · 19/05/2011 20:23

I'm living in Paris and go with friends quite a lot - take a big handbag with jumpers in it (or a separate bag - there are lockers you can use), especially if you are hanging around for the evening parades. Easier if you are in a disney hotel, but for some reason it is always much colder at Disney than the rest of Paris.

I normally go in black tights, skirt, top and pumps (my normal day clothes), but most people are in jeans. Agree with LOTS of, um, oddly dressed people from the eurozone (think metallic bomber jackets, too tight white jeans, brightly coloured thongs underneath...). Trackie bottoms are fine if you're comfy in them, and you won't be the most casual, but in my experience the majority of people are in jeans and big coats.

Something like a scarf might be good (if nothing else for impromptu covering from sun - quite a few of the queuing areas seem to be poorly shaded if the sun is blazing). Have fun!!

whoneedssleepanyway · 19/05/2011 22:41

Ignore me OP I am mad and was thinking of October half term I would prob wear similar but not boots but ballet flats and prob short sleeve top cardigan and scarf.

thereistheball · 20/05/2011 07:24

My feet kill me if I wear ballet flats to schlep around all day - do you have a pair of Converse or something instead? Also it's been warm here (outside Paris) - yesterday it was 25, more in the sun. A skirt or summer trousers, t-shirt, plus jacket or jumper, should be fine if it continues.

Vi8 · 20/05/2011 10:32

Thank you so much all of you!

Meggles76 · 20/05/2011 19:41

dark straight leg jeans
breton top
ballet flats or converse
scarf
trench or jacket

Dress for evenings that can be worn with ballet flats

geordieminx · 20/05/2011 20:00

Friends just back yesterday, said it was 80's most days so roasty toasty.

Vi8 · 20/05/2011 20:48

Yes, I think jeans/converse/scarf/trench will do, I'll feel I'm on the school run!

Carrotsandcelery · 20/05/2011 20:55

I used to take school trips to Disneyland Paris in May and it could be quite hot some years.

I would also advise the comfiest, most cushion soled, bouncy shoes that you can lay your hands on as you spend a fair bit of time just standing in queues. Personally I would wear my Asics and leave style at the turnstile.

I hope you have a great time.

PalmTrees · 21/05/2011 18:22

Very hot in Paris at the moment and its getting hotter so t-shirts and a Cardigan for evening are all you need. Bring flat comfy shoes, you will walk literally miles everyday. Don't bring anything you don't want to get dirty, you will be sitting on seats on rides that 1000's of other people have sat / stood on already that day! Have a fabulous time!

thereistheball · 21/05/2011 21:08

It's too hot for jeans here at the moment.

goingmadinthecountry · 22/05/2011 00:47

fixed smile and hip flask
Converse, jeans, layered tops. Remember there'll be photos to show back home. Trackies may not look that cool....
