Hi,i am going to wedding at the end of June and need some god dress advice.I am normally pretty savvy when it comes to fashion but i had my 5th baby 15wks ago and am struggling to lose the weight, iwas a slim 14 but am now a 16 with a big arse and belly Sad I am trying but can probably safely assume ill be still a 16 by then. I have slim arms, shoulders, neck and face and a nice back so could do backless as dont need a bra. I was thinking a maxi dress but they can make you look bigger cant they?but as i seem to have developed hulk hogans chunky calves too i think thast the best option.
I have blonde bobbed hair btw. Thank

I'm well impressed at your get up and go even contemplating going!

Gillybobs · 18/05/2011 19:07

If you have good shoulders I think this would be stunning. Just get some really good control underwear!

PLESE dont get a maxi dress

They are EVERYWHERE. Get a decent pair of heels that will make your legs look slimmer and get a knee length dress, but one that nips you in and shows off your slim bits

MadameCastafiore · 18/05/2011 19:12

I wouldn't go backless to a wedding unless I was young and very slim to be honest - just doesn't look nice.

What about an empire line grecian stylee dress?

ledkr · 18/05/2011 19:13

Gosh your not wrong on the dresses are you? I like loads already. I feel id need to try them on tho.

I disagree Cyb, sorry! Surely its better to wear the dress that most flatters your figure? I agree there are bound to be lots of Maxi dresses, just as a few years ago there were none and everyone wore knee length. You wouldnt have thought twice about being the same as many others in a knee length dress when that was the only option.

Im a size 16 and 5'7" too and find a Maxi in a nice drapey fabric is supremely flattering

MadameCastafiore · 18/05/2011 19:16

here You will look beautiful.

Gosh that colour is stunning, the thing is i am so down on myself at the mo that if i had my legs out too much it would make me very self concious tbh.i went out the other night and felt terrible in leggings so i think the maxi dress is the way forward from a confidence point of view but that colour is what i may go for with my blonde hair, lovely.
I have alovely purple grecian style maxi with a bubble hem and a kind of draped backless back,i did get nice comments, its just the frigging thing is now fitted across my tummy!
