off to a wedding at The Racquet Club, which I think is no far from the docks...chapel street/ covent garden?

Thinking of getting hair done on the morning...can anyone recommend a hairdresser near by?

The most famous hairdresser in Liverpool - Barbara Daly in Lime Street (five minutes' walk from the station). Favourite of the Rooney and the Curran.

Went there once before a work thing, it was very good, but expensive IRRC. You will be goggle-eyed at the clientele and I don't mean in a good way
