Yikes and help - I am getting a moustache!

I'm fair skin but lately i have noticed i've got a bit of a moustache- i find it more noticeable in the sunlight. It's most noticeable to the sides of my lip rather than above. They're blonde hairs and it's not really dramatic but I've really started noticing it and so has DH. I started using tweezers to pull the ones out to the side but I notice when they come back they're getting courser.

Does anyone else have these problems or is it just me? I don't think I know any girls who have had to deal with their tache before!! So if anyone else is out there what do you do??

Immac or waxing or threading. Some also have laser hair removal.

i use little wax strips, cheap and very effective :)

CookieRookie · 16/05/2011 17:01

another vote for wax strips. First time is a bit of a shock but you get used to it. Do it at night before you go to bed though and not in the morning before you go to work like I did Blush

alizee · 16/05/2011 17:13

yep! haha i did that once, i had no moustache as such but a very red upper lip!

i get mine from wilkinson (own brand) they're about 99p i think, if you get any wax leftover use a cotton pad with some baby oil on it or a make-up wipe.

I use JOlen Bleach as I am very averse to waxing (bad experience many years ago) - you look ridiculous with the paste on your tache and I always feel like I'm living ithe 50's but it works if you make the paste up correctly.

Had a friend who is having hers light treated/lasered and is raving about how wonderful it is

janie75 · 16/05/2011 17:25

Thanks ladies. I have visions of doing something and then it coming back thicker and darker and judging by how quickly my leg hairs grow, i?ll be in for a treat! Ok i shall explore all the options above and actually lasering sounds good!!

Jolen bleach here too. Seems to work because when I go to have my eyebrows threaded in the Indian salon I go to, they normally don't say 'just the eyebrows' unless it's been a while since I've bleached. The 'just the eyebrows' comment is code for 'you have a tache, lady, have some shame'. Shock

Lasering normally only works on dark hair though, although IPL laser I think is ok for fair hair these days. Otherise electrolysis is another option.

They look a bit freaky but you need one of these.

It doesn't hurt (apart just under the nose)
no red skin
no spots (I get these from waxing)

Have often thought I had a tad little bit of moustache but have recently discovered what I call "an old granny hair" tucked away in it and having seen this thread went out an bought Veet wax strips yesterday.

Expensive but it was all our local Asda had - not even a pot of jolen to be found.

enidroach · 18/05/2011 11:15

I think Jolen is out of fashion - usually have to scour our large Boots for it and find it tucked on a bottom shelf - often dusty beside other lost favourites such as corn silk powder.
