from Phase 8

I tried it on today in store. It is beautifully soft and warm but concerned it was a bit dressing-gown like.

Was thinking it would be nice with navy v neck tee and slate grey skinnies or indigo straightleg jeans.

What do we think S&B jury?

Yeh i think its quite nice actually and would look nice with plain jeans and vest top or something.

moondog · 16/05/2011 16:01

Wee bit dull?

iWILLdothis · 16/05/2011 16:03

i like it, would go nicely with what you suggested

tulpe · 16/05/2011 16:13

moondog that's my concern too. Thing is, I really want a warm and preferably chunky-ish cardigan for cool summer days. All the ones I have seen today are kind of a crochet knit and therefore not warm, IMO.

i think its nice, i think it would look lovely in the way you suggest (slate skinnies and vest) its not dull its stripey, cardis are usually plain anyway?
"summer cardis" is my ongoing project!

southeastastra · 16/05/2011 16:20

it's a bit like a wind breaker

WhatsWrongWithYou · 16/05/2011 16:21

I've found with Phase 8 cardis, that gathering around the waist makes me look chunky. And it's getting towards waterfall territory imo Smile.
Much prefer a neat cropped or tied one.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 16/05/2011 16:23

I really like these from Pure Collection - still reduced.

PinkOlives · 16/05/2011 16:24

never bought from Phase 8 WWWY, good tip though!

dexter73 · 16/05/2011 18:23

I like dull cardys, I'm not a fan of jazzy cardys!

TracyK · 16/05/2011 18:37

Nice - only if you are real slim though - and wear it so that you can see what you are wearing under it iykwim. Not all tied up and tight (except when really cold).

TracyK · 16/05/2011 18:39

WWWY - is £99 the reduced price????

goodegg · 16/05/2011 18:57

Ooh thanks for the Phase Eight sale link!

Anyone seen this dress in the flesh? I suit dark blue (am blonde) and would be good for work. I can't tell what kind of fabric it is.

goodegg · 16/05/2011 18:58

Oops I love the cardi OP, it's now in my shopping basket in plain red Smile

Mumelie · 16/05/2011 19:31

Think its a lovely cardi, I love cardis, have loads of them. May go take a look at this one on the weekend!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 16/05/2011 21:28

TK - the reduced price is £64.

winefairy · 17/05/2011 08:59

WWWY- It shows £99 for me too. How do you find it at £64? Quite fancy a nice plain cardi.

winefairy · 17/05/2011 09:01

I should add that I really like the Phase Eight one to go with skinnies or straightleg jeans.

tulpe · 17/05/2011 10:19

Thanks for comments. WWWY - I already have lots of those twin-set style cardis. I am really looking for something that I can cocoon myself in on cool days - specifically on the beach or in playing fields with my DCs. The Phase 8 one isn't chunky but it is warm. I have seen loads of chunky-ish cardis around but they are all kind of crocheted or 3/4 length sleeves. Don't knitwear designers holiday in this country??!!

they all wear fleeces with sheepdogs on them

WhatsWrongWithYou · 17/05/2011 14:19

Re the Pure cardi: the sale finished yesterday lunchtime so they're back to normal price now Sad.
