Oily skin but ageing rapidly, any recommendations?

I'm 42 and all of a sudden, overnight, my face has caved in. My skin is still combination/oily - prone to spotty chin (have just started taking Agnus Castus as think poss hormonal) and have enlarged pores in t-zone. BUT also have a multitude of fine lines (crevices if I'm honest) appearing around eyes and mouth.

Can anyone recommend a good anti-ageing but oil-free (or oily skin friendly) moisturiser? Does such a thing exist? I'm using Clinique's Youth Surge (hollow laugh) in the oily skin formula but if anything it's making lines and pores look worse. Have also tried Eucerin's Q10 lotion, which was good for the oily bits, but zero effect on the lines.

Help please Grin

Hi
I know your expecting people to email you with purse denting expensive creams but im also the same, still really oily skin but also lines appearing everywhere they shouldnt... ive used lots of different creams but am currently using (dont laugh) the multi intensive serum from the aldi, its in a pink bottle and designed for fine lines and is amazing, i only bought it cos i read in a few magazines that it had meaten the likes of lancome and creme de la mer. its only £3.50 so worth a try, i also bought the blue one which is the same just has shea butter in it to use a night cream and it has made my skin look better anyway (whether its all in my head i dont know but i feel its changed so cant be a bad thing for £3!!)

I've got oily skin too, I've tried the aldi creams and they didn't make me break out but I prefer bio oil.

It doesn't make me break out at all but I only use it at night.

Yes I was expecting purse-denting recommendations Grin - the older i get the more I expect to have to pay for products that work, although I guess you're also paying a lot for the marketing of the more expensive brands.....

Thanks for the recommendations! Will investigate.....

I have skin like you and love Liz Earle - its got rid of loads of blackheads (!) and doesn't dry my skin out or leave it greasy.

I've always had greasy skin and struggled to find a moisturiser to wear in the day under makeup that doesn't disappear. I'm using serum now,a cheap one from Boots - and it's great. It seems to sit on your skin and not sink in like a moisturiser, and your makeup lasts longer.

Not sure if it's a moisturiser as such, though.

Hi pollyblue, you could be me, I'm just 2 years older!

What you should be putting on your skin in the day is sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen, not a moisturiser (unless it has at least a SPF15 but I don't put anything on less than SPF30), I use Ultrasun - Family 30 - all year round now, it it just like a moisturiser and I can put my foundation over the top of it. Good for sensitive skin too.

Use a night time Olay (at night!) but only put it on dry areas.

Now I've tried loads and loads of expensive cleansers, I was pinning my hopes on Liz Earle but was disappointed. I bought a product called Good Things Stay Clear Cleanser (about £5 from Boots) for my 11 year old son as he was starting to get spots already, and was really impressed with his skin ... so I tried it myself! It's a bit drying, but I've definitely had less breakouts (only use it at night and then a dab of Olay as mentioned on the dry bits).
