Fit Flops / MBT's ... do they work??

I'm thinking about getting some for the summer in the hope that they help in some way however small, but I don't know if I can bear giving up pretty sequin flipflops in return for these unless they genuinely do make a difference? Anyone out there ready to convince me??

Do they tone your arse? Nope! But fit flops are amazingly comfortable and have been amazing for my problem-prone lower back. I can walk for miles in them. Uglyish though

ElizabethHurley · 13/05/2011 20:38

Very ugly and they don't work.

I've got a pair of MBT trainers I've had for years and I definately feel them toning my calves as I walk and afterwards. I wouldn't really say there was a VISIBLE difference though.

However, I would still say yes they are worth it and as "Febreeze" says, they are excellent for lower back. And they force you to walk in the correct posture. and you do burn more calories when walking in them because the MBT trainers are much heavier than normal trainers, you get used to it quickly though.

If you can afford it, get some.

Pretty much what Febreeze says. Fit flops are amazingly comfortable but as for arse toning - dunno

(I certainly had less cellulite and a toned bum last summer but I was also not drinking much caffeine or alcohol and avoiding carbs so not a controlled experiment.)

I'll say it again though, they are sooooo comfy Grin

Don't know, but mine are blissfull on the feet, so well worth it.

Three years after buying my fitflops ... I still don't know.

I think so ... but I make an effort to walk a lot when I wear them, so it may be that ...

I have no idea about the toning factor..... but the comfort....fantastic :o

I had avoided them for some time as I have fat feet high insteps which makes fixed strap footwear a nightmare to buy. But the pair I have were a present and they were very tight to start with. Even though they were a half size bigger than I have in other shoes. I persisted as that is the advice and they now are so comfortable I can walk all day in them .Well,I feel that I could , haven't actually tried yet.

I've got a sparkly bronze pair of Fitflops that I lived in last summer (and a sparkly silver pair that were great until the dog chewed them). Can't say they did much for my cellulite but they were comfy, surprisingly pretty on, and the wedgy heel gave me a bit of height, compared with flat flip flops.

Agree with everyone else. As for toning benefits, don't see any particular evidence. But it's their incredible comfort which makes me choose them each year.

Thick sole is also better than dead flat on me and is great for walking on cobblestones, etc on holiday.

They're not in general the prettiest/ most delicate of shoes but have some quite attractive styles now.

Wonderfully comfortable. They were the only pair of shoes I took on a 5 day holiday to Sorrento last year and we did a lot of walking.
I've got black sequined pair and think they are reasonably attractive with skirts or trousers.
Not sure if they 'worked'.
