Reasonably priced foundation for very pale skin? . . . Recommendations? . . . .

I am very pale skinned (think Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud) but I have blonde hair. I have been using Estee Lauder, Double Wear in Shell, but honestly cannot afford to buy some more until birthday/Christmas time. I would really appreciate pointers on which are good coverage foundations that have pale shades! (something easily attainable in Boots/Superdrug etc). I am not fussed on brand as long as the shade is right (and then coverage). Thank you.

The palest tone in the No 7 Lift and Luminate range (Alabaster) is a nice pale colour that isn't orange at all. Coverage-wise, it's very light and smooth and gives a nice glow.

Hi, like you, over the years I have spent a fortune on foundation and to be honest, I have finally realised that it really isn't necessary. I am pale with green eyes and reddish/brown hair and use Gosh foundation in Golden for winter and Honey for Summer or it might be the other way round...
Good coverage yet feels light on and doesn't irritate my very sensitive skin. Costs about ?16 in Ireland so most deffo cheaper everywhere else in the world!

Sorry, posted too quickly - when I want more coverage, I mix it with Gosh X-ceptional Wear foundation from Superdrug in 'Porcelain'. They work quite well together.

If I remember correctly, Lift and Luminate is around £15 and Gosh is about £7.

Doesn't Nicola do her own brand in Boots? Might be worth a look.

Great, thanks ladies. I will check those out tomorrow.

I second the Lift and Luminate. Its a lovely foundation and the Alabaster sounds perfect for you - I use the next one up in Winter (Porceline?) and the next one again in Summer (can't remember - New Ivory?) and its really lovely.

If you go into Boots, ask them for a sample, then you can try before you buy.

The only place i've seen Nicola Robert's Dainty Doll range is ASOS.

theidsalright · 12/05/2011 20:59

There is loads of "dainty doll" make-up in the ASOS clearance-you should check!

Revlon colorstay is very good for the price, and does the lightest two shades I can find under £20
There's also the new Revlon photo or priming or primping something or other out, and that does two very pale shades too

MAX FACTOR! No one evr listens to me when I say it but MAX FACTOR is FAB for pale skin. I've tried everything, including the fancy brands like Clinique and Prescritpions and it's just the best.

This is grand.

Yes the new Revlon Photo Ready foundation is brilliant, decent coverage that lasts but quite a dewy finish rather than flat and dull. V V Good

drivingmissdaisy · 12/05/2011 21:19

Is second Boots Lift and Luminate, it feels and looks so smooth and lovely.
