If you had £100 to spend on a beauty product what would you buy?

Have been given £100 in vouchers of my choice. If i'm not careful I'll end up getting john lewis vouchers and it will get spent on groceries and so I need to sopend it quickly. What would you buy (i'm happy to top it up a bit if necessary)?

I am approaching 40, skin which tans at the drop of a hat and which is dry in places but which still gets the occasional spot. Not many wrinkles but a few little ones starting to appear around the eyes. Not very good at following a strict routine in terms of skin care. Starting to sprout a beard which I'm zapping successfully with boots smooth skin. Wear full make up every day. Take my make up off with baby wipes or whatever happens to be around (generally in the morning rather than at night Blush). Put on a bit of boots protect and perfect when I remember (maybe once a week or so!).

My resolution is to start taking better care of my skin. Any thoughts?

Darphin purifying balm... the stuff is amazing and you apply it night time. It basically improves moisture and also helps with wrinkles etc, full of essential oils and feels lovely when you apply. Much better than any other night cream or mask I have ever had.

I would also get yourself some proper cleansers (the darphin balm is around £50 for a small pot but lasts around 6 months) if you are using baby wipes at the mo and want to take better care of your skin! Again the darpin range is really good... but so is Origins or Dr Haushka....

I would also head to Space NK (Be warned you can come out of there spending £££) as they would be able to advise you better according to your skin type etc. But if you wear full make up you should be using proper cleanser etc to get everything off.

Very jealous.. enjoy the shopping!

I can highly recommend this
I treated myself to it about a year ago on the basis that I would need less facials if I did, thus paying for itself Grin and it's fabulous. If you use it once a day with any face wash, you'll see a massive improvement.

The great thing about spending your money on this is that you don't need to repeat purchase... say you bought Creme de la mer, you'd have to keep buying it for it to have an effect. With this you just need to change the brush now and again which is about £20, and use some sort of face wash - I use a cheaper one than I used to because the brush does the rest!

Google clarisonic reviews and you should be won over!

It depends what kind of thing u want. I'd go into the department store (Maybe house of Fraser - they don't do groceries so if u don't spend on skincare at least u can spend it on clothes! :) ) and have a consultation with one of the 'make-up girls' I think i'd personally get a really nice cleanser, toner, moisturiser and a nice oil based eye makeup remover - this will help keep the area around ur eyes hydrated (if u take it off before u go to bed it has all night to soak into the skin.) That way if you love the products your more likely to stick to using them everyday so u'll get the most benefit. I used to like lancome but now find it a bit too perfumed. Clarins is also nice. Maybe ask for some testers from different brands to try before u make up your mind.

whoneedssleepanyway · 12/05/2011 12:16

virgiltracey · 12/05/2011 13:03

I would get the Lancome Genifique serum.....my mother has just started using it and after a few days, her skin looks amazing.

BunnyWunny · 12/05/2011 13:06

I would go to estee lauder counter and ask them to kit me out according to skin type- all beauty products have ridiculous claims so don't buy anything too fancy- it's bull- a good basic moisturizer, cleanser and toner are the way forward.

Clarisonic as mentioned earlier
