... what would you buy?

I'm thinking this:

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Knitwear/Cardigans/WK628/Womens-Jewelled-Button-Cardigan.html?NavGroupID=6

But I also have my eye on this (bit over budget, but I want a nice tan bag!)

i would go for the bag if the funds allow it. im wishing i had spent my birthday money on myself now and not when we went to the theme park. :(

BelovedCunt · 11/05/2011 10:16

NO to boden knitwear - it doesn't wear well and is thin and skimpy.

meh to bag but i am not a bag person. defo bag over crappola cardie.

personally i would buy new running shoes

Ambernj1 · 11/05/2011 10:21

I'm 33 weeks pg so the only running I'll be doing for a while is a bath...

I do have a lot of bags (5 mulberrys never mind the others) but I don't have a tan one. It's an obvious void aching to be filled, just wonder if that one is a bit too structured for me...

A night in a hotel by myself :o

BelovedCunt · 11/05/2011 10:29

you really don't need another bag do you?

dexter73 · 11/05/2011 10:36

Get the bag - it's really lovely!

Ambernj1 · 11/05/2011 10:37

No I dont. much as most of western civilisation doesn't NEED anything at all. But I'm huge and I've got heartburn and I can't fit into any of my jeans (maternity or otherwise) so I want one, damn it!

And andrea69, love that idea but as every time I try to go as far as Waitrose without the nipper my free time is punctuated by 22 texts from DH flapping I fear it wouldn't be that relaxing!

I would get the bag but you are going to have to dig deep if you only have £60! Mind you it looks as though it would hold a lot of baby necessities.

BelovedCunt · 11/05/2011 10:40

keep it and spend it on bra's, you will need about 2 million in the comming year

Ambernj1 · 11/05/2011 10:47

Not really a "treat" though - big boulder holders! Plus I have about 2 million from the first one, which didn't get too much use as I couldn't wait to get back into something that didn't resemble the Forth suspension bridge.

You are very sensible though Beloved, I am jealous of your restraint!

BelovedCunt · 11/05/2011 10:49

i think a nice cardie is a great idea but not a boden one.

Ambernj1 · 11/05/2011 10:57

Never had any Boden knitwear, just jersey bits and stuff for the kiddies, so glad for the warning!

For me a nice cardi is like the holy grail - I spend hours trawling round JL etc. but never seem to find the one so fall back on £9.99 uniqlo jobbies to see me through. Did but two Isabella Oliver boyfriend cardis last week, which I like a lot, but want something that bit smarter!

Also, does anyone else find it impossible to be able to wear just a cardigan (no cami under etc.) and jeans and actually look good? This is a fantasy of mine, but my buttons always gape :(

Ok so I know I need to step away from Boden, but Johnnie's siren song calls me back time and again - what do we think of this?

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Accessories/Bags/AM137-LBR/Womens-Tan-Slouchy-Buckle-Bag.html?m=3

Nicer than the first one?

I have a Boden cardigan not unlike the one you linked to in navy. I bought it new from Ebay so was taking a risk. I look like a maiden aunt every time I wear it. It is currently lanquishing in the back of the wardrobe some where.

Jammygal · 11/05/2011 11:08

Another vote for the bag.....you will use it every day rather than the knitwear which you will wear at most twice a week ;)

dexter73 · 11/05/2011 11:10

I prefer the Modalu bag. The Boden one looks a bit big.

RunforFun · 11/05/2011 11:19

I bought a Boden cardie and sent it back. I resembled my mother in law in one of her 'jolly' golf outfits.

Bought a navy one from Jack Wills recently which is quite nice with a touch of cashmere. just a Plain everyday v neck but quite thick quality, but my favourite cardi atm is one from the teen range at M&S in grey marl which I bought for DD but decided to keep for myself !

£60 to spend right now .... hmmm

Some new fitflops, especially those with the red flowers on, perfume (DKNY apple) a chocolate bar and a good book.

Mudwiggle · 11/05/2011 12:00

A good under eye concealer, perfume (agree with RunforFun DKNY Apple) and a lovely shower gel. Little things that have made me feel so much better whilst getting through the first few weeks with a newborn.

A new lippy never hurts either.

carlywurly · 11/05/2011 12:49

I like runforfun's list. Esp the book and chocolate. Have the DKNY perfume in red and green too. Both yummy.

An item of jewellery? Luxury bath bubbles (L'Occitane, Neals Yard or the like)
Pregnancy spa treatment or mani/pedi?
Magazine subscription?

sprinkles77 · 11/05/2011 13:57

have a facial or a massage or something. I bought some hideous stuff when pg and just after DS born. blame the hormones. I'm not saying your links are hideous of course....just that i ended up buying things that seem a bit off to me now.

mumtoted · 11/05/2011 14:03

Definitely a nice bag, you will appreciate it every time you pick it up where as a spa type treat is forgotten about. I'm not into tan myself but love the Highgate bags from your first link, thankyou!

RubyGrace17 · 11/05/2011 19:00

I really like the bag, I have a similar one myself :) Tan goes with so much, you'll get a lot of use out of it- or so I'd tell myself if I were you.
