Does anyone use Avene skincare? Any good? I'm looking for something cheaper than my current Dermalogica

I'd love recommendations please. Can't really afford Dermalogica any more.

Any other brand recommendations gratefully received.

Skin is combination, a few lines (mid-thirties). My priority is a daily moisturiser with SPF that isn't greasy.

Also looking into serum as an anti-ageing strategy.

Thanks in advance

Abr1de - have you tried the Bioderma Créaline range? I have very sensitive skin and find it fabulous (and bargainous).

Have used Avene and La Roche Posay and definitely LRP is better - I use Hydraphase UV spf 15 moisturiser which is comparable to Dermalogica skin smoothing cream. I've also used the rosaliac spf 15 one which i really like as well. Their cream cleanser that comes with a pump - can't remember the name, think it's the physiological one is comparable to Dermalogica ultra calming cleanser, totally recommend the toner as well which is great for taking make up off with too.

For very sunny days I will use the anthelios spf 50 tinted moisturiser which I love aswell - I tend to stock up when there is a 3 for 2 offer at boots.

Oh thanks for that tip, Bonsoir! I am in Paris next month so can pick it up there if it's not available in the UK...?

Abr1de · 13/05/2011 19:44

Oh, I see you can get it in the UK, too.

Which of the aforementioned brands would you all recommend for teenage, spot- prone skin? It's dds birthday soon so don't mind spending a bit on her...

I have rosacea and bouts of acne on the jawline. Moving to the US I didn't know what skincare to use so I went to see a dermatologist. They strongly suggested Aveeno and Neutrogena products for my skin type. 5 years later and my skin is still much clearer.

For a mask the dermatolgist told me to use raw honey. You slap it on and leave it for 15-20min and then massage it in before rinsing. It has been the best and cheapest face mask I have ever used.

I have to agree with highlander.....I would go for something simple and effective, doesn't have to be pricey either, check out
