Are they worth it? How do they wear? are they shoes for life? Can I justify it...?

Oh yes they are. I would say you could justify any of the shoes from their "classic" range as they are timeless and very high quality - they are definitely shoes for life and have a price to match lol!

Erm, I have 4 or 5 pairs and I also have some vintage shoes. The vintage shoes are better quality and more unusual, some Louboutins can look tacky (hate that platform sole).

Mind you these were all bought in an era when I was highly paid and paid little tax. I'm now pregnant with a toddler so don't wear them, apart from one pair of flats.

I have one lowish sandal pair that are falling to bits. Very disappointed.

I have one python pair of 1940s style heels which I adore and will wear forever.

In my opinion, sure, splash out, but there are other designers out there (all of a price) that are more interesting and less waggish/strippery! Vivier, Dolcetti, Kirkwood etc

I have just recently purchased my first (and second and third Blush) pairs and I am a complete convert! Always thought that the price tag was not worth it, but dh persuaded me otherwise and he was right!

Have a pair of flats that are so comfortable, and then heeled sandals and a pair of classic black heels. Make me feel a million dollars and they are so much more comfortable than I thought they would be.

Are the heels comfortable, or more comfortable than cheaper makes? I would expect flats to be comfy.

PlumSykes · 10/05/2011 08:36

I had the Marguerite sandals for my wedding. 10cm high and utterly comfortable all day-and I wasn't even that used to wearing heels. I have two other pairs, both high and both comfy. Personally I'd steer clear of the high-fashion, platform style, as I know I would go off them quicky.

Good advice all.. i'm talking about the classic black 'pump'

I am sick and tired of buying a new pair of black high court shoes every 4 months and having them wear down or break or become uncomfortable. I think it's time to invest in a pair.. Will check out Vivier, Dolcetti, Kirkwood etc as per otchayaniye's suggestion too. Now... where to buy them in Leeds Confused

I have never bought into the Louboutin craze. The last time I tried on a pair there was a colour mismatch (nude pumps with a 4 inch heel). It wasn't noticeable in the shop flourescent lights but in sunlight it was very obvious. Nor were they particularly comfortable. They also seem to be becoming rather common.
There are lots of other fantastic comfortable and hardwearing shoes out there. Jimmy Choos are lovely.

Sorry - by comfortable I meant the heels were too!. I wore my black pump ones with heel to a christening on the first day that I wore them - could walk fine, no problems and managed to be carrying children and chasing them too! Don't be that Envy of my hubby - he had a lot of making up to do !! Angry
