ninah · 09/05/2011 21:11

I don't think it's dressy enough. What don't you like about long?

ninah · 09/05/2011 21:13

oh that's better, was looking at kempton shooting
wtf makes up the names lol

Bunbaker · 09/05/2011 21:15

£249 for that!!! I agree with ninah, it looks far too casual for a black tie dinner. I might wear that style of dress to work though.

drivingmissdaisy · 09/05/2011 21:17

How about the red vita dress, it's a bargain too

I hate long - too dressy. I want something that looks expensive and nice, but not too showy.

I thought grape dress might do as silk and nice shape and could wear with purple Chie Mihara shoes with ankle straps (bit of a 40s vibe).

Miss Daisy I like the red vita dress but I would need cardi or something (Oxford College dinner so have to sit through a lecture first!).

Would look nice with the rachel bolero or even the croquet cardigan

If you like a 40's vibe this is gorgeous -the tea dress (green)

Have I missed half the thread? What's it for?

minieggfannomore · 09/05/2011 22:31

ooh Miss Daisy I like the green dress. Not sure if colour would suit me tho (blonde and freckly, pale skin and rosy Wine cheeks).

Tethersend I am going to a black tie dinner in an Oxford College. Need a cocktail/smart dress. Am size 12/14, medium height, slim(ish) but wobbly round beach ball stomach and dodgy arms. Also can't walk in high heels.

Usually would wear black with nice jewellery, but would like something pretty and colourful for a change.

tethersend · 09/05/2011 22:51

Oooh, nice.

How about this?

tethersend · 09/05/2011 22:58

Blue?

'mocha'?

Drapey

minieggfannomore · 09/05/2011 23:03

Tethersend - that dressy is bloody gorgeous and that website is brilliant. Thank you.

Could I wear kitten heels with it do you think?

OP posts:
minieggfannomore · 09/05/2011 23:04

I like the mocha Reiss one. Nice colour.

OP posts:
tethersend · 09/05/2011 23:22

yy to kitten heels with that dress.

Bunbaker · 10/05/2011 07:07

The blue 50s style dress in tethersend's first post is gorgeous. The mocha one looks very sack like, sorry.
