Tattoo cover-ups / concealer

I have several large (and very beautiful!) tattoos, which I love. However, I have just returned to competing in a sport that isn't very tolerant of body art and means I have to cover them up.

As a child I had some comoflague make up for scars on my face but it was NHS and for the life of me I can't remember the brand, and I imagine things have moved on since then anyway.

Can anyone recommend some cheap-ish / good-ish camoflague make-up to use please? Can be suitable for scars/tattoos/birthmarks etc.

Thank you.

Dermablend is probably what you had on the NHS. The brand has now been bought by Vichy and you can get camouflage make up from them. However, if you go to Charles Fox (professional make up shop) in Covent Garden, or their website you can buy Dermablend palettes which include tattoo neutralisers. I've heard Kat Von D has her own brand of tattoo cover too which is supposed to be good, but I've not tried it.

The absolute best thing to use is waterproof airbrush make up but that is rather expensive as you'd need the airbrush kit, as well as knowing how to use it! I suppose it depends how involved you are in the sport as to whether this would be worth your while. The Dermablend stuff can only do so much, but if you are in London it may be worth going into the shop I have mentioned and get someone to show you how to neutralise and conceal your tattoos. You'd need to use the neutraliser (the one in the kit is a rose colour - but actually different colours work to neutralise various colours of tattoo - usually the complementary colours if you know what that means), then set it with special powder, then use a concealer the same shade as your skin on top and set again with the powder.
