Cotton Traders keep sending me discount offers but I am struggling to find anything I want at all.
Can anyone see anything?

It all looks a bit like one of those 'modest clothing' websites for fundamentalists in the US...

Trousers and shorts, all gopping. Skirts, too long. Dresses, weird frumpy sleeve lengths. Some OK tops but the same as you can get anywhere. His 'n' hers stuff...just mental! And who, for the love of god, wears turtlenecks?

"Is there anything you would wear from Cotton Traders?" hmm, no. The dimension are all wrong/unflattering too mumsy for me.

On second thoughts perhaps the walking shoes, but then again that is where Millets comes in handy :)

The thing about discount offers is it's not free money. If there's not really anything you like, then it's better to spend your money elsewhere.

The maxi dress could work with some good accessories. And the lace camisole might make a nice layering piece.

It's all very middle-America.

Blush I have bought something Blush

In my defence it is a v cheap waxed jacket for dog walking but I tell myself it doesn't matter as no-one else sees it at 6am.

Jaspants · 07/05/2011 18:06

this one

Cotton Traders is my in-laws fashion retailer of choice (because it's cheaper than M&S). They are in their mid-70s, live in a small town in Scotland, call trousers 'slacks', and like things in easy-care polycotton. They once sent DH a violently patterned viscose 'leisure shirt' (that's what it said on the label) for his birthday that was so vile he couldn't even bring himself to put it on for the obligatory 'thank-you for the lovely present' photograph. So no, I don't think I'd follow their fashion choices.

exexpat · 07/05/2011 18:10

I think dogwalking jackets/boots are fashion-exempt anyway, aren't they?

The waxed jacket is inoffensive, in that it's identical to any other waxed jacket.

exexpat · 07/05/2011 18:15

but actually I am in no way a stylish person (I spend most of my time in my 'dog walking' clothes and I wear crocs and muckboots ) and even I wouldn't wear cotton traders clothes, which must be saying something....

JustKeepSwimming · 07/05/2011 18:17

Geneerally it's a no to the clothes but I have the suede slip-on shoes & they are v comfy & practical Started wearing them when going to playgroups where you had to take your shoes off whilst carrying kids & bags, etc.

noddyholder · 07/05/2011 18:18

The linen blazer and the sling back wedges would look ok with skinny jeans and a long vest top

Katisha · 07/05/2011 21:24

Well thanks for looking all! I think though, I shall just have to forfeit my alleged £8 discount as I really don't want anything!

No - not my kind of thing really...

I have started putting discount vouchers into the recycling bin - very liberating :)
