In the last month my skin has gone from slightly dry and sensitive to so dry and itchy I practically have scales, and I seem to have developed an allergy to all my usual stuff. Foundation now goes all cakey, it's hideous.
My eyes have started that triangular overhang like Maggie's spitting image puppet - what's the best look for that? HELP!

Oh poor you - sounds awful. I'd be thinking about the whole skincare regime first.

What do you use/do at the mo?

expatinscotland · 08/11/2005 09:25

Deal w/allergy first, I agree!

Put a bowl of water on each radiator, and get some special eye cream. It has probably happened this month cos you have put your heating on. I am having a flare up of exzema on my arms and legs!

Mainly Garnier skin naturals creams and No 7 foundation. I used to use Estee Lauder but can't afford it any more. Was fine through the summer with those though, it's wierd, but worse than just that change of season/central heating on dryness.

My friend's mum had surgery last year for the eyelid thing that you describe.. it was only minor surgery. She is v.happy with the result.

Dermalogica - I would see a beauty consultant, since the range is so vast and you need to know the best products for your skin type. It is expensive, but cheaper if bought via the web. Hang on, will google website.

Maybe it is that then Colditz - my excema's bad too.
With the eyelids though - dark or light eyeshadow?

Would love surgery - wouldn't stop at eyelids - but am skint and a wuss.

The dermalogica range is really good - you'd need to find a local stockist. It isn't cheap (probably similar prices to Estee Lauder) but many people with skin sensitivities use it

Matt medium brown. Nothing too dark or anything shimmery.

gingerbear · 08/11/2005 09:39

try here
I have very dry skin, and use ultra calming cleanser, intensive moisture balance moisturiser and the skin tint tinted moisturiser for summer and the foundation is good.

I had been using garnier ultralift moisturiser, but it made my skin blotchy and the eye cream puffed up my eyes!

Turquoise · 08/11/2005 09:45

Thank you
Am ditching the garnier.
