Hi

What are topshop jeans like?

Was looking at Leigh jeans today but can't decide.

I am wearing martha jeans today, agree about the silly flap pockets but otherwise they have been good jeans, I would be happy to see more 29" or 28" inside leg trousers in general, 30" is way too long for me. I have the Jamie skinny jeans, very stretchy material and they just don't suit me, I want more straight/narrow not skinny jeans(they only seem okay when I am wearing boots with them).

I would also like some lightweight cotton trousers that are not baggy on the behookie (not a good look on anyone surely) I tried Topshop chino, but they are sack like. Demanding moi?

I love the straight legged shape of Marthas - straight legged jeans are much more flattering than skinnies in my opinon - but I don't much like jeans from Topshop. The rise is far too low. I've had 3 kids forchrissakes!

Jeans from Oasis are much more suitable for women over eighteen I think. Their jeans are a mid-rise, and sit much better an inch or two below the belly button rather than just above your pubic bone!

Has anyone tried the levi curve jeans out of interest, and what did they think?

Very interesting! I'm seeing my designer friend tomorrow and will ask her about the Martha style!

Another vote here for MARTHA jeans! They are the perfect shape! Please do not discontinue them.

I love the Kirtsins - I got a new black pair today. They don't seem to come in as many colours as the other types of jean, which is a bit disappointing.

I tried on some Leighs and Jamies too but the fabric seemed a bit thin - they didn't feel like they would last very long.

A bit of feedback on the Topshop denim from my friend: the leighs are the 7oz lightweight jeggings- the new AW leighs are going to be premium denim -super comfortable and soooo soft!, the jaimes are heavier weight and will really hold you in- the waist is higher so no unplanned flesh showing, try looking for the premium jaimes on line - this is actually the same fabric as used by premium LA brands for a third of the price!, baxters are comfort stretch and more of a straight leg, marthas are returning for AW - no pocket flaps in a really luxe deep shade. check out the amazing coloured denim at the mo tho- like the J-Brand but so much cheaper. Hope that's helped, let me know and I'll submit any requests to her....

Dukes were WAY better than Marthas. Marthas were the weak replacements for Dukes! BRING BACK DUKES.

I agree about the waist on Baxters, my oldest ones always needed a belt, then they recut them and they were brilliant, actually HAD a waist and didn't fall down or need a belt. Now they're like clown trousers again. I have a huge arse and can't size down.

Also I HATE when the arse is the palest bit of the denim, reasonably evenly dyed is more flattering for most.

I am intrigued by the Kristen skinny jeans. Does anyone know whether they are the same as Baxters only with a high waist or are they skinnier like the jaimies?

and 29 length petite Baxters have they vanished forever??? i'll stop obsessing over them now
