Anyone gone from blonde to brown and felt a bit unsure?

Today I got my hair dyed back to its natural colour which is brown and then had a few tiny, subtle highlights put through it.

I'm really fed up getting it highlighted and being left with roots but I feel a bit Confused about my new colour - as I say it's my natural colour but I feel that it looks very dramatic and so much darker than my usual colour, I have been highlighted blonde for years and years. Having a bit of a wobble really...

Anybody else done this? Do you get used to it?

I really liked it in the salon but now I'm home with make up off and ready for bed I feel a bit Hmm

Sorry I'm rambling - advice?

Yes I did this last year... For exactly same reasons as you...

I am afraid I ended up going back to highlights as i just felt too meh

Also, my colour washed out after a while back to the blonder bit sbut maybe i just didn't have a good colour

I always felt like that so igzagged from heavy hi-lighted bleach look to darker colours, then back again

this year i tried red, hated it. am wishing id stayed blonde!!

I've done that twice, and as Cristiane says, the colour washed out. Looked wierd. Straight back to hairdressers a week later each time to go back to blonde.
It's funny isn't it - you'd think you'd suit your natural hair colour, but I just felt washed out. Much happier as a blonde. Plus blondes don't go grey... :)

yes I did - everyone except one person said that they really liked it. I showed the greys more though so went back to blond!

I did! I found the colour faded to a nice in-between colour which I am happy with. Give it a month and see how you feel. Mine is in better condition and I don't have permanent bloody regrowth!

If your going to go dark personally I have to go properly dark, I toyed with meh toffees and caramels and looked insipid and felt a bit lost.

(had been blond for years)

Blonde in all it's forms for me!

I'm mouse. Very dull mouse. I LOVE my highlights. I only have the top done and leave the underneath for contrast.......sounds naff but I like it that way.

Have been "lit" since I was in my early 20's and now 49. Tried growing it out in my 30's and felt invisible. Also, my make up looked kind of flat.....

Placed well, highlights can frame the face and just "lighten" the features, especially as you get older. Why not try another hairdresser for a second opinion?

My 17yr old SD has for the past 3 months been growing her hair from a bob to, what is now quite long. She also left her highlights. It looked flat and just not good. I HAD NO IDEA SHE HAD IT HIGHLIGHTED as it's looked "naturally blonde" to me since I met her 5 yrs ago. However, last weekend, she had highlights done and it looks SO much better. It was really rather drab before.
