DSs Christening is taking place in June and I need some advice on what to wear, and what the etiquette is for dressing for a church event (normally would just wear smart-casual everyday clothes for Sunday service, the church where christening is taking place is fairly laidback when it comes to what people wear!).
I'm 5ft 5, size 10-12 and youngish (27), and am usually quite interested in fashion (Elle, InStyle reader), but want to 'get it right' etiquette-wise whilst looking fairly stylish (I quite often go for quite quirky clothes).
Can any budding fashionistas help me at all please?!
- If I were to wear a dress, how short would be acceptable (not thinking bum-skimming by the way, but above knee)
- What about tailored shorts and a nice blouse/top?
- What about a maxi dress, would that be acceptable?
- I normally love wearing high heels, but observation of church is that the floor is lethally shiny and slippy, so really high heels might be dangerous when carrying baby DS (and embarrassing if I stacked it!)
- Quite happy to consider something classy and timeless but 'young', or something a bit more 'out there', I really am open to suggestions and have no fear of looking dated in photos!
My budget is about £60, not including shoes- can anyone help me please?!
