Help me pick which dress

Need something that will do for an evening reception, all day wedding and a posh daytime party - all in June.

This is my shortlist
this
this
or this

Any other suggestions would be great too. Bit more info if you need it - 5'3", like my legs, don't like upper arms and have a bit of a tummy that my Spanx will probably sort out Grin

Oh they're all gorgeous!!! I think number 3 would be my choice.

I think 1 and 3 are more wedding-ish and 3 is so different. I love it.

FebreezeYourJeans · 28/04/2011 17:22

You've got to have bloody good legs for number 3, I've never said this but that one genuinely looks like she's forgotten her trousers. Oh hell, am sounding like my Dad. [cshock]

I like both of the others.

FebreezeYourJeans · 28/04/2011 17:23

Sorry, just seen that you are quite petite with good legs - so number 3 is still a contender then [cgrin]

moondog · 28/04/2011 17:27

That design on no. 3 is a bit curtain like for me.
1 at a push but I think there are far nicer dresses about.

DurhamDurham · 28/04/2011 17:27

They're all beautiful but I love the 2nd one. I love it so much infact that I want one Grin

TethersEnd · 28/04/2011 17:30

Number 3

moomiemoo · 28/04/2011 17:30

Yes I am a short arse petite so even smock tops end up looking conservative when I wear them. [cgrin]

I really like 3 but also worried that it's a bit short so I might have to order them all just to try them on at home and then maybe keep just one [cwink]

moondog - happy to find a much nicer dress - any suggestions?

OP posts:
headfairy · 28/04/2011 17:34

I love the second one, wouldn't suit me as I can't wear that flesh colour, but if it's ok with your colouring then it's really pretty.

moondog · 28/04/2011 17:36

If you are short, i think floaty smocky things things make you look shorter.
How about something more structured?
A shift dress?
I love a good shift dress, me.

moondog · 28/04/2011 17:38

What think ye?

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 28/04/2011 17:40

number 2 if it suits your tone.

moomiemoo · 28/04/2011 17:43

hmm...not really my style moondog but get your point about something more structured so will bear it in mind.

Am hoping to get away with floatier dress by wearing high heels?

moomiemoo · 28/04/2011 17:45

oohh.... how about

this

pink4ever · 28/04/2011 17:48

Sorry op but I think both moondogs choices are much nicer than your original ones. You sound as if you have an lovely figure so why drown it in swathes of material?. I agree-get your legs out but go for something more fitted(and if weddings june then perhaps more summery colours?).

moondog · 28/04/2011 17:59

Floatier?

moondog · 28/04/2011 18:02

Also floaty

moomiemoo · 28/04/2011 18:03

snap moondog [csmile]

I like this. V. retro

pink4ever · 28/04/2011 18:04

That Coast one would look amazing on someone with great, tanned legsEnvy

moondog · 28/04/2011 18:05

How funny Moomie!
It's lovely, that one

CrystalDroplets · 28/04/2011 19:53

That Kaliko one is stunning! I also adore the Derhy one, thinking I may buy it for myself!

moomiemoo · 28/04/2011 19:55

I agree crystal and have ordered both Blush

OP posts:
MillyR · 28/04/2011 20:14

The Derhy one is gorgeous.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 28/04/2011 20:52

The Ted Baker birdcage print is absolutely gorgeous (I keep going and drooling over the print in store!) but I'm not sure about the style tbh - I think it's for a tall, leggy, straight up and down type of figure. They also do it in a maxi dress and a mini skirt though.

Don't like the blue French Connection one at all - or the blue Coast one.

Are you norky? If so, a fifties-style dress would be better than a shift or those 70s styles imho.
