Any tips on getting rid of the jelly belly? Realistic suggestions please that fit with looking after a demanding baby. DH kindly informed me that famous people don't seem to have this problem! Please does anyone have a more helpful response?

famous people have tummy tucks. get a swim suit with the sides cut out

Beamur · 26/04/2011 20:01

Thats because they have tummy tucks/nannies/personal trainers/cleaners/chefs etc!

Whilst I'm waiting to win the lottery so I can get a personal trainer, etc, etc, any other ideas?

Mine has gone down over time, and I think it is still getting better (youngest DD is 4 now). I would like a tummy tuck though [cgrin]

Breastfeeding helped me. Could feel it all getting sucked back in! Apart from that gentle sit ups if you have the inclination....But is nice to have a special time NOT worrying about what you look like. You never get those early days with a new baby back :)

30 Day Shred (20 mins) or a short pilates DVD coupled with lots of walking with a push chair?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 26/04/2011 22:38

Depends what you mean by jelly belly. If it's the spongy extra layer that's left after the first baby, about 6 months of bf and plenty of walking should sort it out.

Mine actually looked better than before after having DS1 as there was a bit of muscle definition that had been lacking previously.

If you mean the lump of crepey flesh you could tie in a scrunchy that in my case arrived after carrying an almost-12lb baby - never.

< loosens scrunchy for bedtime >

My DD is 13 later this year, I have tried most excersise plans and diets but am still desperately hunting for a solution.

What planet does your DH live on? Don't lose weight for him. If you want to do it for yourself, fine. Personally, I think you should just enjoy your baby, without fretting about what your stomach looks like.

MinginInTheRain · 27/04/2011 10:15

is it loads harder after a section? all the muscles have been sliced and can't tone up in the same way? did I just make that up? dunno but it's my excuse after 3 of them Grin any advice for poor flabby folks with the saggy overhang bit?
