Which is the best leg wax

Right, I just can't cope with waiting to have legs waxed when they need doing pronto and you can't take a 1 year old to the salon ... so, have been doing them at home. Not too bad, have used some ready waxed strips which were not bad and also the veet wax gel which was less good. Is there a wonder product I don't know about ladies?

Many thanks! Any tips on how to do knees better?!

xx

Sorry never found anything that is as good as a salon wax.

I use the veet wax pot which you heat up in the microwave because you can reheat as you go along the wax goes a lot further and hurts less because you are putting less wax on. For sensitive areas I rub some talcum powder on first and then wax. Also make sure to moisture rise afterwards.

For the knees, I find folding my knees helps and chopping the strip to a smaller size helps.

OP I have had my legs waxed in a salon for years. Haved used the Veet cold strips but they aren't great.

My Spanish friend bought me a kit from Spain (will look on the box what it is called when I get home) it is in a roller dispenser. It was amazing as good as a salon wax..BUT and this is a big BUT, be very very careful. I overheated the wax in the microwave and ended up with an inch long deep burn on my right leg. Make sure you heat the wax for less than it says on the instructions and test it before you apply it - I didn't and am paying the price (used it at the weekend for the first time).

It was also water soluble and cleaned off really easily where there were little bits of wax that didn't come off with the strips.

BTW I think you can take a one year old with you to get waxing done provided the salon are happy, I have taken my two DDs with me before and the younger one just sat in her pushchair with a box of raisins and they were good as gold.

whoneedssleepanyway Roller sounds good..

Sadly I've been to a few salons here and either their rooms are inaccessible for a pushchair, or they are far too serene places to take a toddler, or the best i've heard were that it was against health and safety - fair enough, but nothing beats the salon where the woman literally stood at the reception, pointed to my pram (DD was about 2 months at the time) and said "you can't bring THAT in here", as though I perhaps had a large hairy dog who needed a bath!!

Just thought, don't know why I didn't think before, there must be people who come to the house...

yes there are Felicity, they normally charge a bit of a premium though, there is someone I know local to me who does that, I have only ever been to her though but she will come out.

have you got any beauty salons attached to a gym near you, that is where I take my DDs and as there is thumping gym music going on outside it isn't exactly a quiet and serene place.

the other places that might let you are nail bars that do waxing too, a woman had a dog with her in the one I went to at the weekend and had him on her lap while she had her pedicure done.

will look up the name of that wax for you when I get home.

Out of stock - maybe you can't buy it anymore - but highly recommended if you can find it elsewhere
