Those look nice.

I agree - I am happy to wear hot pants but can't do a short short skirt.

Mind you, you need brown legs for either

cyb · 23/04/2011 21:21

Arf, you poor thing you will be draped in long stuff for quite a while me thinks

OP posts:
noodle69 · 23/04/2011 21:24

Personally I would say they are way too long

MayorNaze · 23/04/2011 21:26

short skirts are for winter with thick tights

ggirl · 23/04/2011 21:26

depends how they make your arse look
skirt can hide bad arse

they do look nice though

WillieWaggledagger · 23/04/2011 21:31

also provided you are not wearing those pleat-fronted high-waisted knee-length things my slim and otherwise young-looking mum insists on

I like those uniqlo ones but would possibly wear with turn-up if that looked ok

cyb · 23/04/2011 21:52

noodle they're not Don Estelle shorts. Nor are they hot pants. V flattering

OP posts:
cyb · 23/04/2011 21:53

they look miles longer in that photo actually. Almost knee length! Whne they arent

OP posts:
noodle69 · 23/04/2011 21:59

Ive not heard of Don Estelle shorts but they do look knee length in pic but might just be the pic as you say. Its hard to say when its just a pic and not someone wearing them Smile

Jezabelle · 23/04/2011 22:05

I really like the. What you wearing them with cyb?

TapselteerieO · 23/04/2011 22:10

Which colour did you get. Cyb?

I would like to wear shorts, but worry they would make me look short and stout? I am not quite 5ft, size 12, very short legs, petite stuff is 3 inches too long for me.

cyb · 23/04/2011 22:10

I'm thinking a wedge of some sort and a cottony top

OP posts:
Bumperlicioso · 23/04/2011 22:27

Shorts look awful if you are ample of thigh like I am.

PatTheHammer · 23/04/2011 22:29

Has anyone got a nice pair of denim shorts that hug the arse but not the thigh? If so, where did you find them?
btw, i like the ones in the op.

Pat have you tried Fatface? I think they have trousers/shorts that are quite bum hugging but not tight on the leg.

Jaspants · 24/04/2011 14:10

Def down to body shap - those of use blessed with hefty thighs cannot wear shorts without much rubbing and a camel toe

LaDolcheRyvita · 24/04/2011 16:01

I like them....

For those who think them a wee bit long, we can't all be blessed with lithesome limbs...

I love wearing shorts but they have to be mid-thigh.

tulpe · 24/04/2011 16:41

Mid thigh has to be maximum length otherwise you will look like Don Estelle/cub scout leader with particularly wiiiiide bottom and thighs.

The only pairs I possess which look okay are Zara mid-thigh tailored shorts in navy (to be worn during last 2 days of holiday only due to needing ultra tanned limbs); or a white pair from Boden which are flatteringly close cut on bottom without giving hideous camel toe-age at front and loose cut on the thigh. They are from 2 summers ago so they may have changed their cut now.

PatTheHammer · 24/04/2011 16:51

Oooh, off to check out fat-face and Boden......

Although by the time I get paid, no doubt summer will be over!
