mumtoted · 23/04/2011 19:04

What size, body shape, colouring are you? And what price range?

mumtoted · 23/04/2011 19:25

There is a thread for a dress for a christening, may have some ideas for you here

celticlassie · 23/04/2011 20:02

What about this? I saw it in Oasis today and it's a lot nicer in real life than in the pic. A bit Kate M.

I'm 5, 6 and big of nork 34f/36E also generous of muffin top so a curvy 14/16. hoping that the baltic (Scottish) weather will be allow for at least perhaps some nibbles putside before the midges drive us indoors. I trust Mn more than my DH's "Aye, fine Doll."

How about this or this?

Or 50s style?

Fuctifano · 24/04/2011 09:00

I love the red, think that the draping could be very flattering

Was my uni quiz team name! Not sure how it reads in different regional accents as I hear it in my broad Scots dialect. Thanks so much for the dress tip, would never have thought of Laura Ashley.

Are you still looking for a dress?

fivegomadindorset · 24/04/2011 18:41

www.monsoon.co.uk/larch-print-dress/invt/85344976/ I bought this the other day as an option for a wedding dressed up or with birkies for the summer, was very nice on.

Fuctifano · 24/04/2011 18:49

Used to claim to be related an Italian footballer Roberto... Yes, going to check out my local Laura Ashley tomorrow but it is small branch and judging by the window usually stocked to suit its approaching elderly clientele. Next is a no no as anything half decent will be worn by at least two other mums, there is a small Phase 8 in my local Debenhams and have liked their stuff on other threads so could check how i sit with their sizing in store then order. Like the floaty drapey almost grecian look, partial to a maxi if it can contain the E/F girlies.

I am 5.2 but have a large arse so I guess 2-3 inches below knee on me would sit on your knee. it is very comfortable to wear, I don't do dresses/skirts at all but looking forward to wearing this one.

Carrotsandcelery · 24/04/2011 20:35

The Monsoon one is gorgeous.

I recently bought this one for a wedding and there is a matching bright pink bolero cardigan to go with it.

I am a slightly bigger cup size than you and I still had to go down a size from my usual clothes size as there is plenty of room in the bust. Infact, if I can budget sufficiently to keep it I will have to put a little stitch into the cleavage as it is so generous.

It would dress down quite well for summer with some pink birkies or some wedges I think.

I am 5ft 5 and the length was perfect.
