Acne scars at 40!

For about the last year I have been getting really horrible spots. They stay for ages and when they go they are leaving purple scars and they are not going away?
What could I use to get rid of the spots and what will get rid of the scars.
Always had q good skin before??

I would go to the GP. They should be able to give you antibiotics or something. It sounds like boils rather than spots?? For home treatment you could try:
Tea tree oil
Silicol Skin (from chemist over the counter)
Arnica cream
TCP (just a tiny dab)

For the scars you could try a gentle exfoliating/peeling treatment like Clinique total turnaround, which might make a difference if the scars aren't too deep. I believe Creme de la Mer is great for acne scarring - supposedly Victoria Beckham used it to help her (quite badly scarred) skin. It was developed to treat scarring originally. Never tried it myself though.

As a long-time acne sufferer, I would say get to the doctor before you get more scars.

I would go to a dermatologist... it can have various causes! So don't be afraid visiting a doctor!

My adult acne was hormonal. Know exactly how you feel and hope you get it sorted soon.
