I need a pair of comfy flats for walking from the train/car to work then change into my heels as my feet are killing me, can anyone recommend some really comfy flats/ballet pumps?

Bloch are super comfortable. They are dance shoes but sold in Selfridges.

corygal · 21/04/2011 08:54

Bloch is the brand you need. Bliss. They are pricy but TK Maxx sells them for £25-30 and you can usually find them about £50 online too.

I swear by Hush Puppies. I have several styles of ballet pump, in different colours.

Ballet flats look like they ought to be comfortable, but they are the least comfortable shoes I own. They always dig into the back of my heals.

Bring back loafers, I say.

bloch is horrible for my feet. keep on getting blisters when wearing them, generally uncomfortable etc- however, i have high instep and quite wide feet. i like blue velvet (king's road, london)- v comfortable and look nice.

Love my blochs. So soft, can walk for miles in them and no sore feet.

I agree tkmaxx is bst place to get them.

try Clarks - particularly a Clarks outlet.

Monsoon have a pair of pleated satin ballerina pumps that look very nice. A word of advice though pumps are very hard on your feet and have little if no support at all, try putting a shoe insole in, not only will you find it much more comfortable your shoes will last longer and your feet will thank you for it!

blochs are not leather lines..........
the best are French Sole and Pretty Ballerinas, but circa £80 - £120

otchayaniye · 21/04/2011 11:33

Beware French Soles - they can come up at least one size small. Particularly the Harriet style.

I also find French Soles (I have one pair and a pair of London Soles) don't come very far up the back of the heel. I'm only a 36 and have small feet but sometimes they slip up and down because of this. Does depend on the style though.

My blochs are leather lined and soled.

if all else fails, you could try Arche, which have thicker soles and are seriously comfortable, though they are a bit pricey. You can buy them online at the natural shoestore

DonaAna · 22/04/2011 09:32

My new Michael Kors city flats are the best shoes - not quite flat, a wonderful rubber sole, and yet they look stylish and go with everything. I walked in them all morning yesterday from 9 am until 1 pm and they felt just great.

I have the style that kind of folds in on itself when not wearing them,if that makes sense.
They are so comfortable, haven't tried that style yet Jajas.
