I'm thinking crest whitening strips so far. I have already bought that new Maybellline liquidy eyeliner here - marvellous!
What else?

I bought Banana Boat fine mist sunscreen last week, and its fab - no rubbing in, and its a wide spray, so you are covered really quickly.

Also CVS sleeping tabs or their combined paracetaomol for nighttime is great.

Stock up on hairbands and tights.

I also bought easter stuff like little plastic eggs you fill yourself.

I never go to the US without visiting CVS - tis fab

Dipping Dots are ice cream. Milk Duds are candy which are yummy on the tongue, terrible for teeth Wink.

Melatonin. Cheap as chips there; need a prescription here.

Exedrin in a big bottle. Your migraine will be GONE.

Pretzl M&Ms.

bamboobutton · 19/04/2011 16:01

yep, placenta conditioner

mmm, protein rich.

VivaLeBeaver · 19/04/2011 17:02

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:02

Mane & Tail conditioner. I miss that stuff!

moragbellingham · 19/04/2011 17:14

worm you can buy hydrocortisone cream 1% over here.

Melatonin.

strawberrymewmew · 19/04/2011 17:29

Espat You can get the wet and wild make up here from Tesco for £1 each. The liquid liner is brilliant!

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:33

Not up here you can't Wink.

And it's a dollar there.

I have it all planned out. We now own 3 big suitcases from TJ Max. 5 tickets = 5 lots of 23kg of stuff.

Now, about half that will have to be clothes and shoes, most of it for the kids.

But the rest of it . . . :o

strawberrymewmew · 19/04/2011 17:35

Expat Where are you from?

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:35

Houston, Texas.

strawberrymewmew · 19/04/2011 17:40

I thought you lived in Scotland because of the username. Apologies.

I live in Glasgow and love that Tesco sell the Wet and Wild stuff now. And Asda also now have Hershey's kisses. :D

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:47

Yes, I do live in Scotland. I have done so for 9 years now.

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:47

I am in rural Western Scotland, however, so a ways from Tesco and quite a distance from an ASDA.

Sad
strawberrymewmew · 19/04/2011 17:52

Aw well, if you go on any trips in Scotland in the summer you now know to hunt through Tesco and Asda.
And if you are ever in Glasgow or Edinburgh there's a line of candy shops called "Candy and Shake" That sell all sorts of American sweets and drinks like real Mountain Dew, 3 Muscateers bars, Tootsie rolls/pops, Marshmallow fluff and even Twinkie's!

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 17:56

We have Mountain Dew through here, but it really doesn't taste the same [sob]. The deli is owned by an American who's been here for well over 30 years, but he said that Mountain Dew here is slightly different formulation. But the A&W he carries is fine :).

I go back once a year, though, and generally stock up on some things.

strawberrymewmew · 19/04/2011 18:02

Omg, you have A&W! < Jealous > I can't find any sort of root beer here unless I go to that candy shop. And the Mountain Dew they stock is the actual imported stuff, they even have the cherry voltage one.

We used to have an actual A&W restaurant here, it was brilliant but they shut it down.

Gay40 · 19/04/2011 18:08

The Kiss My Face range. I love it.
Cocoa butter moisturiser for hands in a lipsalve stick.
Advil, although I think you can get them here, but the USA versions seem much more effective
An anti-itch cream that not only stops itchy skin but also anaesthetises it for way longer than UK Germolene.
Last time most of my suitcase was toiletries from CVS and Wal-Mart, and my family are not allowed to use them. Only me.

Polgara2 · 19/04/2011 18:16

Hmph wish I had read all this before I came back at the weekend!

expatinscotland · 19/04/2011 18:30

Ooooh, yes, there's always A&W at that deli. :) I could go for some ICB, though, especially cream soda, too.

I love Whole Foods there for stuff for DD1, who is allergic to SLS-containing products and has sensitive skin. 'Jason' products are fab.

I have a tin of Burt's Bee's Miracle Salve in my bag always and usually stock up on Alba Un-Petroleum Jelly there, too.

TwiztidStardust13 · 19/04/2011 18:46

I got a tube of Burts Bees stuff free with the tesco parenting Magazine yesterday. Is it any good?

And OP if you find Faygo buy it!

SofaQueen · 19/04/2011 18:52

Yes, you can get 1% hydrocortisone cream here, but is is in eency-weency tubes and is quite pricey. There, you get huge tubes for a fraction of the price.

I always pick up:

-Hair elastics
-Tylenol for kids (paracetamol - they have many more iterations like chewable cherry and drops)
-motrin for kids )ibuprofin - same reason as above)
-maybelline mascara: cheaper
-bags of single reeces peanut butter cups
-band-aid plasters (they are the best)
-cetaphil cream for very dry skin (buy many tubs of this as this is the only cream which keeps eczema at bay for DS2)
-large containers of ibuprofin
-nalgene BPA free sippy bottles for kids
-Kiehls products
-Noxema sensitive skin shaving cream for DH

Duritzfan · 19/04/2011 18:54

You can get melatonin over here btw .. (expat here too )
Biovea.com stock it ..
I would buy Bacitracin - antiseptic with antibiotic in it - brilliant stuff !
Also California Baby stuff for the dc's ..

:)
