have used the mobile hair dresser from hell :-( Im too scared to do anything about the colour in case it falls out and my normally really thick hair is thinned out so much that the ends are so wispey and stick out every where.

I have fine hair but lots of it and a few years ago a hairdresser thinned my then 'just above the shoulder bob' way too much. It made it really difficult to style and looked a mess. Eventually I had is cut in to a chin length bob to thicken it up and speed up the 'growing out' process.

Did you say anything at the time?? I am really bad for this. I always nod my head, smile, say 'lovely' and hand over my cash - even when I am crying inside!!

yeah same here as soon as I saw the colour I very nearly couldn't speak and as for the cut I was trying to work out what the hell she had done as there seems loads of wispey bits that stick out. Im dealing with it by putting it in a pony tail and just basically avoiding looking in the mirror. Can't belive I paid for it its mad isn't it {sad]

I'd put a semi permanent dark blonde through it to tone down highlights. Might make you feel a tiny bit better. Nothing worse : (

How about trying a violet shampoo to tone the colour down. There is one, I think its called Silver Shampoo, you can get it from the Chemist or I think Boots sell it.

I once had a hairdresser over thin my hair and had to had all the ends cut off, to make it lay better.
Hope that helps.

Oh and I have just recovered from a bad at home dye job, with colour B4, highly recommend. But I think a toner would work better for you.

Regarding the colour, don't try 'correcting' it at home; go to the best hairdresser you can afford, tell them what's happened and ask them to fix it. They will test a strand of your hair to see how it reacts to further colour processing so they should know whether your hair can take it or not before they start.

Regarding the thinning, unfortunately you'll need to get it cut as short as you can bear it so that it stands as thick as it can be; otherwise the ends will go crispy and matted. You will need to condition your hair constantly.

Good luck!!

It will grow and fade. You are bound to feel awful now but trust me, it won't be feel quite so bad after a week or so. A secondary trim is a good idea, to balance up the over-layering. You could have another lot of higlights ina couple of weeks as well, if your (reputable) hairdresser thinks your hair can take it.

I second what "allthegoodones.." said as well.
