Is there an age limit for maxi dresses?

I really like the flowery frilly maxi dresses that are around at the moment. Just a bit worried that I might look a bit mutton dressed as lamb. I'm 41, size 12-14 and 5'9". I hate my legs so live in trousers but like the maxi length as it means I can be more girly while remaining covered up!! Advice please!!

Why would there be?

Wear whatever you like, as long as you feel comfortable in it. Age is meaningless.

Thanks - I ordered a couple which arrived today but it's been such a long time since I've looked girly that I wondered if I just looked daft Smile I seem to have got into a boring SAHM jeans, converse and t-shirt routine.

Life what did you order and from where? I'm in the same SAHM jeans rut and am slightly panicking that the weather is going to completely take me by surprise......

I can't seem to get the links to work, but I ordered a black/red maxi dress from new look, reduced to £26 and a black one that isn't on their website anymore. Was reduced to £8 so maybe sold out. There are a couple of nice ones on the next website too. Flowery but not OTT. Just wanted some cheap and cheerful ones that would suit for every day and holiday too.

Yes.

ignore sassy Wink

I am definitely in the camp of "just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it" but at 41 you are not too old for a maxi dress.

ha ha Sassy that made me chuckle Smile I promise not to buy Lelli kellys to go with it. tulpe, yes I agree with you, which is why I will never wear skinny jeans (the clue is in the name!!)
