stretching new shoes- can you?

I have had 2 pairs of Clarks ( ahem) shoes delivered- a suede ballet pump.
The 5 is a teensy bit too short on one foot, which is almost a 5.5.
I also have slightly turned up big toes which means my big toe presses on the top of shallow shoes.

However, the 5.5 is massive on my left foot even with an inner sole it slips a bit.

Matters complicated by having narrow feeet.

Anyone got anytips for stretching the size 5 just a tiny bit, lengthways if I keep it?

I'm in the same situation. Clerks ballet shoes, left foot a bit tight and shoes a bit shallow.

There are places that will stretch them. Places that do sole and heel repairs (Timpson type places)

I'm going to drop mine off tomorrow if I remember.

Have you tried stretching them yourself? Find something to stretch them over and combine with the spray stretch stuff you can buy in the cobbler's. It should work if they're suede, because it's leather. Leave overnight to start with, and keep monitoring until they're right. They should stretch even more once they're worn.

My mum always takes her new shoes to her sister, who is a 1/2 size bigger, to wear round the house for 5 minutes or so and stretch them for her! Do you know anyone with feet a little bigger than yours who would oblige?!

lol- good ideas. but think I shall have to go with the larger ones and hope when it's warmer my feet will swell a bit.

My sister used to wear loads of socks or thick socks and wear them around the house.

You can get a wooden shoe strecher thingy. I have one it's shaped liken foot and you put it in the shoe and adjust it, works for width and length. It got it from eBay and I can say that it really works.
