Returning to work - non b/f-ing bra?

I usually wear a fitted V-neck or sweetheart neckline pencil dress for work (yes I know v glam but I never go out so it's my only chance to dress up!). I'll be going back to work in July when LO will be 9.5 months old and I hope to still be breastfeeding morning, evening and before bed. I've tried on some of my old pre-pregnancy bras and there's no way they'll fit as I'm still 2 cup sizes bigger at the moment. I don't want to wear my huge industrial maternity/nursing bras for work though. They're all full cup, so most will show a bit of lace or a huge thick strap poking out from under my non b/f-ing clothes, and none of the b/f-ing bras are very supportive either. One of my nursing bras is a bit tight and my boobs were a bit engorged and lumpy after wearing it all day. If I buy a normal non-nursing, underwired bra, even if it's a good fit, is it going to result in lumpiness and risk blocked ducts, or can you just wear a normal underwired bra between breastfeeds at this stage?

gourd - I wear non-nursing bras - the lightly padded/moulded (not push up) 2 for £8 ones in Asda - DD3 is 18m old now but I gave up wearing them at about 12m as I was heartily sick of wearing bfing bras and wanted a bit of shape (have been bfing since MArch 2006!).

I have had no problems with them though when I bought them I did make sure the under wire was big enough to not touch any breast tissue (just flab!) and went up a size to a 36E/F rather than a 34F/G so the wire wouldn't be pressed into me.

I sometimes wear non-nursing bras for work. Mine are lightly padded but do not have underwiring as I now find them too uncomfortable Sad. I don't think the uncomfyness is due to engorgement - more to changing body shape - but I should imagine that an underwired bra could hurt you if you do get engorged.

Maybe get yourself measured and buy a couple of cheap, well-fitting non-underwired ones. (I think mine are Leppell (sp) and I got them from Figleaves.) As you get used to spacing out the feeds, engorgement should be less of a problem and you may well change size and so need more new bras!

Thanks, I'll have to see how the feed spacing goes before I go back to work - at the moment there's no sign of LO wanting any fewer milk feeds and I have a feeling she'll still want a lot of milk when I'm around but will automatically have less milk once I go back to work, so I'm expecting a few days of feeling a bit "full" but hopefully not leaking. I really hate non-wired bras though. Just find they aren't supportive enough unless they look something like a sports bra, but that type would definitely show under a v-neck. I'll get measured and try a few bras on a week before I go back, maybe buy one to try before i go back, then more of the same if it works.

i wore underwire bras pretty much the entire time through pregnancy and BFing. (I got some underwire BFing bras at H&M too.)
no problems at all, though i never had engorgement by the time baby was on solids.
